Lion’s Playground
and Andrew J. Gal-
way playground
had new equip-
ment installed this
summer. While
weather hampered
the installation,
children were fi-
nally able to enjoy
the new structures
in August. It is the
Council’s hope to
continue to upgrade
equipment on a
regular basis, piece
by piece.
Playgrounds
Summer had a
very slow start but
closed on a high
note. We are at
the half way mark
in our term as
Town Council and
are very pleased
that progress is
being made on
many projects.
The Construction
of the new recrea-
tion complex is
well underway.
We have received a
$1,000,000.00 con-
tribution from
ACOA to help off-
set the cost of the
new centre.
Paving has begun
in and around the
Town. Water
Street repaving
has begun with
some preparatory
work and will be
complete by the
middle of October.
The paving on
side roads has be-
gun and will soon
be complete. Har-
bour Grace is hav-
ing a great year
for new construc-
tion, there have
been 18 permits
issued for new
homes. We would
like to thank Roger
Pike who has do-
nated new story
boards for the area
near the Kearney
Tourist Chalet.
The new Southside
well should be com-
plete before the end
of October.
As of September 18,
2015 the amend-
ment to the Town
Plan and subse-
quent map have
been registered
with the province.

Harbour Grace’s history
alive and to bring new busi-

she encourages you to con-

Erika comes to us
from St. John’s hav-

there. Before that
she was experiencing
life abroad, spending
time in the UK, USA
and Ontario. She
was born in Goose

from residents in an effort to
get information out to everyone
as quickly and efficiently as
possible. Please email the of-

with THG Email Listing in
the subject line if you would
like to be a part of this service.
We are very
happy to fi-
nally be in our
new home on
112 Water
Street. This
move makes our office more
accessible to all of our resi-
dents with a wheelchair ramp
at the front entrance and coun-
cil chambers on the main level.
We will be upgrading our pay-
ment options by adding In-
terac and Visa payment op-
tions. We
want to be
as flexible
as possible
for our resi-
dents.
Council meetings will re-
sume to the twice monthly
format for Fall and Winter.
Starting mid October Mayor
Barnes will be in the office
on Wednesday afternoons
from 12:00pm-4:00pm.

Summer Students
The Town along with vari-
ous volunteer organizations
were very fortunate to be
able to secure government
grants used to employ more
than 20 students over the
summer. We wish them all
the best with their studies
in September.

The Annual

Summer 2015 kicked off with
a very successful celebration
of Canada Day. The Civic
Events Committee hosted
hundreds of people for a fun

was another success. Crews
from all over descended on
Lady Lake for an exciting day
of races, games and lots of de-
licious food. The CBN Bull-
dogs Baseball Club hosted the
2nd Annual Bulldogs Classic

Frozen water lines are a fre-
quent problem for residents in
the winter months. Please re-
member that this is the re-
sponsibility of the home owner,
if you are concerned about wa-
ter lines freezing, leave water
running slowly to reduce the
risk. The Town will not dig up
water lines during the winter
months.
The S.W. Moores Memorial
Park Committee has worked
very hard over the summer to
beautify the park. This com-
mittee is run by volunteers
and we appreciate all of their
hard work. Please help keep
it looking its’ finest by report-
ing any vandalism. The pic-
ture shown was
taken by Photogra-
pher Philip Rossiter
and will be part of
the new correspon-
dence for the Park
Committee.
