Building Buttercream Skills
(Wilton Course 1)
Thousands of people just like you have experienced the excitement of decorating their first cakes in a Wilton class. You will see how easy and rewarding it is to decorate wonderful cakes and other desserts that will
delight your family and friends. Your certified instructor will show you the keys to baking, icing, and decorating cakes, and special treats. Learn these buttercream techniques: star, borders, drop flower, rosette, ruffles, zinnia, ribbon rose, printing and writing. Students will receive a Wilton Certificate of Completion.

Christmas Cookie Blossom
Learn how to make a designer Christmas Cookie Bouquet for a fraction of the cost of having one made for your Christmas festivities. Students will learn to make a delicious sugar cookie recipe, and decorate cookies in the season’s colors with all the accents.

Fashion Fun: Halloween Help!
Need a last minute, quick, no-sew costume? In an hour, we will upcycle t-shirts into simple, but fun Halloween masks and capes.

Merry Monograms
Learn to use simple household items to monogram your own Christmas or Holiday themed shirts for the family! Freezer paper stenciling is a wonderful way to add monograms or simple graphics to all types of fabrics. In this class you will create a monogrammed shirt and learn how to use freezer paper stencils to add graphics to t-shirts, or any fabric of your choice.

Photographic FUN-damentals Learn the basics of creating great photographs. Classes will cover topics like camera operation, effects, action photography, night photography and much more! Students are required to bring a fully adjustable digital camera.

Tai Chi Chu’an & Qigong For over 30 years, Scott Sifu has been practicing a Yang-style short form, for relaxation, overall health, focus/centering, and longevity. In recent years, he has added single movement exercises, qigong, to his repertory. The practice is slow and easy, and without contortion or other stress. It is a ‘perfect’ exercise that encourages balance, muscle tone, a positive attitude, and overall wellness. Class is limited to first 15 paid registrants. Students must wear smooth sole shoes and loose clothing.

Black Kentuckians & the American Civil War Through the Emancipation Proclamation sounded the death knell of slavery in the United States, white attitudes toward newly freed black Americans would change slowly. In Kentucky, the experiences of African-Americans during the American Civil War were many and varied—and sometimes tragic. This course will present an overview of those experiences with special attention given to the important role and sacrifices made by African-American Kentuckians who fled slavery by the thousands, entering Union camps and volunteering to enlist in the Union army.

Mindstorm Madness For kids ages 10+
Students will have an awesome time building robots that can navigate obstacle courses and respond to a multitude of sensors, including light, touch, and sound. Students will begin work with the Lego Mindstorms® base kit to master the programming of basic movements, and then progress to more difficult challenges. They’ll build robots that can navigate mazes, shoot ping pong balls … and more!Instructor: Tony Mercer
