We are proud to announce that we will have 11 new pledges for the fall semester of 2014. We see the qualities of a gentleman, scholar, and jolly good fellow in all of these young men and cannot wait to see what they can bring to the organization.

Fall 2014 Pledge Class

Community Service: MUD U Omega Mu will be participating in

MUD U, an obstacle course to help kids learn the importance of an active lifestyle. MUD U is two days of fun filled obstacles and team building exercises and if you couldn’t tell by the name of the company, it is completely based on mud.

As volunteers, we get the chance to hang out with some of the youth in Stillwater and have a lot of fun teaching kids the importance of friendship and teamwork. MUD U travels all over the country and if you would like more information or would like to get involved you can visit their website at www.muduniversity.org.

Friends, Alumni, and Family of DKE, Our chapter was just recently formed in 2012. As such, we have not had the members or alumni available yet to help us create a sizable budget to host all of recruitment, philanthropy, and social events. With this in mind, we have created a new program for our friends and family. Instead of just asking for donations, we created two new membership clubs that will help you see the results that you can help us achieve! As our family and friends we want you to stay up to date with what we are doing at Oklahoma State. For the fall of 2014 and the foreseeable future we are now introducing the 1844 and 2012 clubs! These membership options help you keep up to date with the Dekes here at OSU. The names of the clubs come from the year of our national fraternity's founding and the year of our local chapter founding here at OSU. By joining either membership you will be charged the respective amount per month of the active school year. In exchange for your help, we provide the following benefits:

1. One free DKE shirt per semester (made new each semester) 2. Two Newsletters sent to you each semester, both via email and hard copy. 3. Invitation to all of our events with no cost (alumni tailgates, parents days, philanthropy events,

etc.) 4. A personal letter from the president each semester. 5. Entry into our DKE Club prize raffle at the end of the year.

The reason we have created two separate clubs are to appeal to families that may want 2 shirts each semester. This way, if you join the 2012 club your membership fee will be $20.12 / Month and we can send you two shirts instead of one! Your money will go into a fund that will help us properly host alumni tailgates, formals, house repairs, recruitment events, and philanthropy events. Beyond that, the money will also be going into our savings for finding a long term housing plan close to campus. We really want to thank everyone that has supported us already. We have felt an amazing system of support and really want to get our parents more involved in our lives in college. Please feel free to email me if you have any questions and we thank you again for the Support! To join the DKE commitment program, click on the donation tab at osudke.dekeunited.org. Omega Mu would be nowhere without our mentor

and friend George Otey. George is a Deke from the Rho

Lambda chapter at OU; running with the gentleman and

jolly good fellow themes the Rho Lambda DKE Alumni

Association has graciously invited us to their alumni

tailgate for the second year in a row. It is always a good

learning experience from our brothers down the road and

since it is not the Bedlam game we can all lay down our

differences and enjoy each others company. It can not be

said how important these alumni have been to our success

here at OSU and we are excited to make this a tradition we

pass down from year to year.

Weekend Getaways

Deke of the Week

Being a scholar is on of the main pillars of DKE and is held in the upmost importance. To help motivate and challenge our members we have installed the “Deke of the Week” award to be handed out during our chapter time. To win this coveted award, you must record your library/study times and submit them to the scholarship chair for review. As we all love a good game, the competition has taken our studies to a new level as our chapter GPA is currently ranked 5th in IFC.

Living in the middle of Oklahoma sure does have its downfalls sometime but one of our favorite things to do is get out of town and explore some of the cooler parts of this great state. It seems like every week there is a new trip planned for the gentleman of DKE. Whether it is 10 minutes down the road to one of our lakes for a fishing trip or the weekend in the Arbuckle wilderness there is almost always an opportunity to jump in a car for a weekend getaway.
