• Audit testing was for period from January 31, 2007 through June 20, 2013
• Final report issued on June 30, 2014 Recommendation to include faculty in background check
policy in order to “establish a more comprehensive and consistent policy and to reduce risk”
Recommendation to require criminal background checks on all new employees, including faculty
Acknowledgment that this goes beyond what is required by law, but that it is consistent with universities’ practices and compliance testing

What is Telecommuting?

It is an opportunity to perform your job in a location other than your assigned workplace through the use of computers or other telecommunications devices. It is a flexible work arrangement that serves the
needs of the employee and the work unit. It is a benefit, but employees are not entitled to

Employees who want to telecommute due to a medical reason must contact the FMLA Administrator and complete the medical certification process. Employees who have given birth may not
telecommute until 4 weeks after birth, regardless of medical clearance. Employees must make alternate arrangements
for dependent care while telecommuting.
