Faith of Our Fathers | Joseph | Genesis 37-50 Where we are headed: What about Joseph’s life is challenging to me?

The Passage: Genesis 37:1-11

A. When hate takes over.

1. Their father loved him more than any of them. v. 4

2. They hated him and could not speak a kind word to him.

Have I ever played favorites? How did that work out? Hate, hate.

B. When tempted, do I know how I will respond? (39:1-20)

1. Committed and loyal to Master v. 8

2. Committed and loyal to God. v. 9

Lord, that I’d be so into You that nothing else would tempt me.

C. But God meant it for good. ( 50:15-21) [Hebrews 11:22]

1. When I’m able, by faith,……. my attitude will be right.

a. To see God’s plan in my location

b. To sense God’s hand in my situation

c. To accept as good, when there’s evil in the process.

Can I trust God to bring good out of what others planned as evil?

Apply: Lord Jesus, let me be a Joseph in these days

with integrity and forgiveness.
