Western culture's Christmas celebration abounds with
unique issues and temptations. But, I do not do Scrooge
well. As I write, I have the lights turned on the Christmas
tree in the dark hall of the narthex. A lighted tree still brings
out the kid in me. But, our society does go a bit crazy
during December. There is this mystical lure of Christmas
and much is misguided and misplaced concerning it's
meaning. If we stay occupied with the Person of Christmas,
Jesus, you can fend off the snares of Christmas according to
the world. Fix your heart on Jesus and set your mind on the
words of Hebrews 12:3 NIV and consider Jesus deeply. Fill
your thoughts, expectations, and desires with your
trustworthy and eternal Lord. And let FFCPC help.
Participate in our Advent Sunday worship services. Let's
keep the momentum of our gatherings growing. Come and
bring family, friends, and neighbors for our Christmas
Cantata, "Touched by a Child, Touched by a King,"
December 17 at 10 am. Remember, there is One who waits
to fill your heart and renew your hope this Christmas. His
name is Jesus!

Each year, the Cumberland Presbyterian Church collects a
"Gift to the King Offering". This year, it is designated to go
to the Istmina Cumberland Presbyterian Mission in
Columboa. South America. The church is going to make a
donation to this, but we wanted to give anyone the
opportunity to make a donation as well. We will take up this
collection on Sunday, December 10th during the
offering. If you are interested in making a donation, please
write a check to Faith Fellowship CP Church, and put "Gift
to the King" in the memo field of your check. Put it in the
offering plate. Then we will send one check from the
church.
Choir Christmas Cantata The Choir at Faith Fellowship will be presenting, "Touched
by a Child, Touched by a King", by John Purifoy on Sunday
morning, December 17th, during Morning Worship. Make
plans to attend and receive a blessing from this music.

Morning Bible Study The Women of Prayer Tuesday Morning Bible Study
is studying Seamless, Understanding the Bible as One
Complete Story, by Angie Smith which began October 17th. You still have time to join these ladies. Seamless covers the
people, places, and promises of the Bible, tying them
together into the greater story of Scripture. Whether you've
grown up hearing Bible stories of you're exploring Scripture
for the first time, the full story of the Bible can be
overwhelming. Experience the Bible as a whole as you gain clarity and
confidence in your understanding of Scripture. Discover a
biblical context that reshapes and brings to life stories from
the Old and New Testaments. Each week is accompanied by maps, general Bible facts, and
word studies. If you are interested in attending this Bible Study, please
contact Mary Nell Yarbro at (865) 679-9246 or Dana Rose
at (865) 679-0624.
Ornaments for Tree in
Narthex The Christmas tree in the Narthex is our Church Family
Christmas Tree. It contains ornaments that church members
and non-members have donated for the tree over the last few
years. If you would like to donate a Christmas ornament,
