Autumn is Coming …so is the women’s fall outing on Saturday, September 23rd meeting in the morning at 9:15. We will meet at the parking lot and be on our way to Eshleman’s Orchard in Clyde by 9:30. We will learn about apple grading, storage, coolers, and bee pollination of the apples. Then we will go into the orchard to pick our own apples to bring home and enjoy. Cost is $5 unless you choose to purchase more to bring home (paid at the location). Lunch (on our own) will be in downtown Green Springs at Papa Jimmie’s Restaurant. The afternoon will be spent back at our Fellowship Hall where we will be led by Cinda Jones in making our own Fall Silk and Dried Flower Centerpiece to bring autumn into our homes! Each person will learn basic floral arranging and create a centerpiece to enjoy for years to come. The cost for making your own arrangement will be $10. Cinda will bring all the supplies and we will pay her that day.

There is a sign up sheet on the women’s board in the coatroom area. Indicate if you can drive and how many can ride with you. In preparation of the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation in 2017, the LIFT

Evangelism Committee is sharing 95 Reasons to Celebrate Christian Unity. Here are the next 8. Their hope is to celebrate

an “Age of Unity” as LIFT as well asthe church as a whole.

Universal Christian Doctrine 73. The church was established by the triune God, not of human origins, but from the whole event of Jesus Christ.

74. The growth of the church is not by human works but by God’s doing.

75. The Scriptures are the inspired Word of God.

76. The church on earth lives from and is ruled by the

word of God, through Jesus, the living word of the gospel

and inspired Scriptures.

77. Christians combine audible and visible elements with

profound spiritual realities that remain hidden from

empirical investigation and perception.

78. We believe that the church will be sustained and never

be defeated but will carry out its mission on earth.

79. Salvation is a gift of God that cannot be earned.

80. Christians are called to be servants of God.
