Page 5: Faith - Corpus Christi - Lexington, SC€¦ · desórdenes” (Habacuc 1:2, 3).

Walk to End Alzheimer’s

Our Lady of the Hills will be hosting a Forty Hours Devotion

beginning on Thursday, October 6th with our regular adoration

schedule and then we will resume adoration on Friday after Mass

until Saturday morning, October 8th to pray for Marriage and Family

in honor of the l99th Anniversary of the Apparition of Our Lady in

Fatima.

Also, this is an Election Year. There are many important issues

hanging on the election of the new President. Some of these issues

will affect the very core of society and are capable of having long

lasting effects on our nation. We cannot change who is running for

President of the United States. But, through prayer and supplication

the Lord can change the hearts of people. Including, the hearts

of these candidates. This is an ideal time, during this Year of Mercy

to implore Our Lord to have mercy on us and on the whole world,

but especially our nation.

If you feel called to join us in imploring Our Lord to have mercy on

us, or if you are irresistibly attracted to Our Eucharistic Lord, we

need you and Our Lord awaits you. If you come to adoration

on Thursday or Friday morning, we ask that you sign up for your

regular time. We are especially looking for people to come to

adoration from Friday afternoon until Saturday morning.

October is the month of the Holy Rosary! One of the main

reasons is October 7 every year is the feast of Our Lady of the

Rosary. This feast was introduced in 1571 by Pope Saint Pius V

(1504-1572) in honor and gratitude of the Blessed Virgin Mary

for her intercession resulting in the miraculous victory of the

Christian forces on October 7, 1571 in the famous Battle of

Lepanto.

First Friday Devotion

The First Friday of each month was

designated by our Savior Himself as

a day to be consecrated to honoring

His Sacred Heart…

Approved by the Church, this devotion asks one to do the

following nine consecutive months on the First Friday of each

month:

Receive Holy Communion on nine consecutive first

Fridays.

Have the intention of honoring the Sacred Heart of Jesus

and of reaching final perseverance.

Offer each Holy Communion as an act of atonement for

offenses against the Blessed Sacrament.
