HISTORY OF FAIRVIEW “The doors of Fairview Elementary School swing open wide on welcoming

hinges. We provide essential academic challenges, support, and structure, yet remain a nurturing school community necessary for the development of each child entrusted to us.”

Fairview Elementary School was established in 1929, when several schools in the area merged to form one school. The school is the oldest continuously operated public school in Henry County, Georgia. The original Fairview had three rooms, which branched off from a round auditorium in the middle. Fairview was chosen as the name because you could see a “fair view” of all its surroundings

CURRICULUM AND INSTRUCTION Block Scheduling through building for last 3 years. Bell to Bell Instruction Benefit and necessary for SPED to increase test scores. Block scheduling allows students to be in any class during any time

period and receive instruction. Eagle Academy Fridays allow for higher order activities. Driven by portfolio assignments. Charts should be posted in each

classroom. “ What to do if you finish early.” This allows for higher order assignments not to be designated only for “the gifted”.

SAGE Eagle Academy Fridays is for students who may not necessarily qualify for gifted, but are accelerated in a subject area such as Math and Read. They receive enrichment for the Gifted Teachers.

Gifted Student Population 103 Response to Intervention (RTI) Lab run by Title Tutors.
