dition, MOU formally signed by presidents among 20
public universities in Thailand regarding research and
academic collaboration in PhD in CS programs will
play important roles for the research advancement
supporting Thailand 4.0. Industrial collaborations will
also be established to further enhance the potential
of those innovative implementations for the benefits
of the academic and industrial communities. Career
advancement will consequently be augmented.
Computing facilities are available through the de-
partment computer lab, as well as the 9 laboratories.

Ph.D. International Program in Computer Science Located in Khon Kaen, the heart of northeastern
Thailand, and hub of business area, industries and
healthcare centers, the Department of Computer Sci-
ence is at the frontier of interdisciplinary research be-
tween Computer Science, Information Technology and
Geographical Information Systems. The department
has conducted a wide range of advanced research
activities in close cooperation with Thailand Research
Fund (TRF), Office of the Higher Education Commission.
As a consequence, the Ph.D. International Program
in Computer Science offers an excellent opportunity
and environment for individuals who wish to pursue
in-depth knowledge and advanced research in com-
puter technology. Moreover, the fact that this is an
international program makes it ideal for international
students who are interested in oversea studies and
cross cultural learning.
International Research Collaborations and Academic Innovation for Career Advancement The Ph.D. in Computer Science International
Program is designed to corroborate the existing Ph.D.
Program in Computer Science and related areas. All
research activities are conducted by the 9 laboratories,
namely,
• Semantic Mining and Information Integration
Laboratory (SMIL)
• Logistic and Supply Chain Laboratory (LSCL)
• Machine Learning and Intelligent Systems (MLIS)
Laboratory
• Natural Language and Speech Processing
Laboratory (NLSP)
• Applied Network Technology Laboratory (ANT)
• Advanced GIS Technology Laboratory (AGTL)
• Advanced Smart Computing Laboratory (ASCL)
• Hardware-Human Interface and Communications
Laboratory (H2I-COMM)
• Ubiquitous Computing Laboratory (UCL)
Based on the above research spectra, the Pro-
gram will expand the state-of-the-art that has already
been established by its forerunning Ph.D. Program.
Various innovations and technical know-how can
then be realized through dissertation research. In ad-
Financial Aids • Graduate teaching and research assistantship
• Khon Kaen Univesity Scholarship
• Thailand Research Fund (TRF)
• National Research Council (NRC)
• Office of the Higher Education Commission
(OHEC)
