Publishing Video/Audio Option Platform What you can do Options to showcase your videos Notes

DeakinAir

DeakinAir guide for students

See Appendix 1 – Uploading to DeakinAir.

Videos uploaded in DeakinAir by students are private (unless you share the web URL of your video with others).

If your upload to DeakinAir fails to complete: 1. Check your internet speed.

(http://www.speedtest.net/) 2. Try a different (faster) internet connection/network

e.g. Deakin On Campus if your internet speed is slow.

Try reducing the size (dimensions) of the video and re-encode(export/save) the video.

If your video will not process/convert after successfully uploading to DeakinAir, use Handbrake to convert format to .mp4.

Converting your video file

It is recommended that video files are in a format that is compatible across most platforms. Therefore, the recommended format for videos is .mp4 . If your video is in another video format (e.g. different file extension), you can use the following conversion software to change your video format:

Free Conversion Software:

Handbrake

- Download Handbrake (http://handbrake.fr/downloads.php). - Use Handbrake to re-encode the video in mp4 format. - If video is very large (file-size) reduce the Avg Bitrate(kbps) and/or Target Size (MB)

in the quality settings of Handbrake. - Do NOT change any other settings in Handbrake unless you know exactly what you

are doing.
