• Our word FEAR comes from the greek word PHOBOS

• Meaning: scared, running from, dread, terror, intimidation of an adversary, debilitating.

• Unhealthy fear produces what we call an ANXIOUS spirit.

• Anxious: uneasy, fearful concern, tension, fret, distress. (WORRY)

• So fear produces worry and worry is very hard on our lives.

• Worry is the result of a failure to trust God. While addressing worry, Jesus said: “O you of little Faith?...So do not worry…” (Matt. 6: 31, 32)

• Knowing the destructive nature of worry and that it points to a lack of faith, I often pray: “Deliver me from this evil”

• So fear produces worry and worry is very hard on our lives.

• This is a reverential fear in God that acts as a guiding motive in our lives.• It is a wholesome dread of displeasing him.• It is a knowledge that nothing else but him will truly satisfy.
