Pulse-jet fabric dust collectors are the most universally applieddust collectors for the removal of dry particulate from processand general ventilation air, and for the recovery of product frommany manufacturing processes.

AAF has long been a major supplier of pulse-jet fabric dustcollectors through its FabriPulse line.

The Model C FabriPulse cleans up to 17, 14-foot long bags withone pulse valve, so efficiently that normally only 0.3 to 0.7 SCFMof compressed air will be required for each 1,000 CFM of dustladen air, at an air-to-cloth ratio of 8:1.

tools for removal. Fabric bagsutilize AAF’s patented snap bandsealing design, again requiringno tools for replacement. The14-foot bag length results in less replacement time persquare foot of media than othertypes of collectors.

Bag, Cage, and Venturi Assembly

BenefitsClean AirThe Model C FabriPulse providescontinuous dust collection at99+% efficiency. Pulse-jetcleaning provides effective on-linereconditioning of the fabricwithout interrupting the air flowthrough the collector.

Filter bags are available in awide range of fabrics matched to the operating conditions and thecharacteristics of the dust beingcollected.

Highest Collection andCleaning EfficiencyThe Model C FabriPulse designis based on a downflow airprinciple pioneered by AAF andproven in hundreds of installations.Dirty air enters the collector highup on the housing and against anair inlet baffle which directs theair on a downward path. Sincethe air flow is downward, it aidsrather than impedes the flow of

dust to the hopper to minimize re-entrainment in the dirty airstream. Precise baffling also aidsin balancing the air distributionthroughout the unit to maximizethe cleaning efficiency of each bag.

The unique cleaning system hasbeen designed to minimizecompressed air consumption forany given application, but withenough cleaning reserve for thereally tough applications.

Lower Maintenance CostsIn addition to minimizingcompressed air consumption, theunique cleaning system design of the Model C FabriPulse resultsin fewer valves.

Access to bags, cages, andventuris is through hingedaccess doors located on the roofof the collector.

The venturi and cage form anintegral assembly requiring no

Modular ConstructionThe Model C FabriPulse featuresmodular construction consistingof the top plenum, the housingsection and the hopper section. The plenum section contains thetube sheet and cleaning systemwhich is completely assembledand factory tested.

Lowest Initial CostThe Model C FabriPulse’ssuperior cleaning system andtop inlet permit the selection ofhigher air-to-cloth ratios thatresults in the use of a smallerunit, requiring less floor space,to provide the filtration you need.

Principle of Operation1 Dust laden air is drawn into the inlet and against the inlet baffle

allowing the heavier dust to fall directly into the hopper. Theincoming air is distributed over a wide portion of the fabric surface.

2 The air is drawn through the fabric bags with the dust collecting onthe outside of the bags. The collected dust forms a “cake” whichenhances filtering efficiency.

3 Cleaned air flows from the bags and is discharged.

4 The filter bags are reconditioned with pulses of compressed airinitiated by a solid-state electronic timer. This pulse of low volume, high pressure air is directed from the surge tank through the pulsepipe located above the bag. As the burst of air passes through the venturi located at the top of the bag, it induces an additionallarge volume of clean air into the bag, expanding the fabric andbreaking the dust filter cake loose. The dislodged dust falls to thehopper below.

Leg ExtensionsStandard leg height provides a 4-foot clearance below thehopper outlet. Leg extensions in6-inch increments, providing upto 8-foot hopper clearance, areavailable.

Standard Options to Meet Your Custom Needs

Pressure Demand ControlProvides a differential pressureswitch in conjunction with thetimer control to initiate bagcleaning only when pressuredrop across the bag housereaches a preset level. Thismaximizes collector performancewhile reducing compressed air consumption.

Sprinkler SystemsWet or dry systems are available.

Explosion VentsFor negative or positivepressure systems.

Technical DataResistance Across CollectorA fairly constant pressure drop across the collector is maintainedbecause of the continuous cleaning of the bags. The pressure drop will vary with the velocity of air through the media (or air-to-cloth ratio),temperature of the gas stream, dust loading, fineness andcharacteristics of the dust, and the type of fabric used. In most cases, pressure drop will range from 3 inches to 6 inches, w.g.

Air-to-Cloth RatioThe volume (CFM) per square foot of fabric is a function of thequantity, physical properties and chemical properties of the dustencountered. Ratios normally will vary between 3:1 and 15:1.
