Description - Polyester is not a natural product, it is manufactured by mixing

different chemicals together which creates a strong and durable fiber. Polyester fabric

Polyester are polymer made by a condensation reaction taking place between small

molecules, in which linkage of molecules occurs through the formation of ester

group. It is common type of synthetic fiber used for thread and fabric. Synthetic

fabric is typically manufactured from chemicals. Polyester based thread is made

from polyester fiber melted and spun into fibers at a very high temperature. Once the

polyester fibers have been cooled, they are spun into polyester thread or yarn. Other

synthetic fiber include rayon, acrylic and nylon.

Polyester is regarded as strong fabric that is resistant to crease, stretching and

shrinkage and hence the ability to its shape well. Touted the best ' wash and wear '

fiber, the polyester is easy to care for and is washable and hence, its wide usage in

essentially every form of apparel and home furnishings. Fabrics woven or knitted

from polyester thread or yarn are extensively used in apparel and home furnishing

from shirt and pant to jacket and hats, bedsheets, blankets, upholstered furniture and

computer mouse mats. Polyester fabric is also used as cushioning and insulating

material in pillows, comforters and upholstery padding.

Polyester is known for its properties as it is readily inexpensive and easy to process

through most types of non – woven machinery. Moreover, it is extremely versatile

and ranges from soft to very firm. Polyester fabric is also very versatile. It absorbs

less than 1% of moisture by weight, offers good dimensional stability under variety

of condition and has unique filling properties. Another thing , polyester is easy to

machine wash. It has an ability to retain its shape. And unlike, natural fibers polyester

is non allergic and doesn't promote the growth of bacteria. What's more – it is

recyclable – something that everyone can embrace it. Depending on the way it is

manufactured, it makes excellent insulation and is often found in many clothing.

When it comes to strength and durability, this fabric is the king. Also , it is very easy

to take care of this fabric and is generally quite inexpensive.

When combining polyester with cotton , the result is formation of stronger material

which is mainly durable and affordable. Cotton combined with polyester helps in the

formation of softer blends that are softer than its predecessors. This type of fabric

keeps its shape and color for long and it doesn't shrink. Blended products are mainly

inexpensive and last longer than cotton. Thus, blends of polyester with natural fiber

such as cotton, rayon or wool extend the durability of these blended fabrics.
