In the modern hospital environment, time is always precious. But there are also many placesin a hospital where space comes at premium. Places like induction rooms, or emergencywards or smaller operating rooms. Spaces like these present particular challenges –such as how to maintain the best possible patient access and still provide high-quality care.It was for environments like these that we designed the Dräger Fabius® Tiro.



HIGH-PERFORMANCE VENTILATION

At its core, the Fabius Tiro features our powerful and accurate E-vent piston ventilator, which requires no drivegas and delivers ICU-like ventilation performance. Thisgives you the ability to handle a wide range of acuity levels.The accuracy of the electrically driven E-vent piston venti-lator means that you can also treat pediatric patients withconfidence. Optional Pressure Controll and PressureSupport (PS) modes, including SIMV/PV, can expand yourventilation therapy repertoire even further. The combinationof its high-precision ventilator and compact, heated breathingsystem makes the Fabius Tiro a natural choice for low-flowventilation.

In spite of its compact size, the Fabius Tiro comes completewith advanced features such as fresh gas decoupling,which maintains constant tidal volumes regardless of freshgas flow changes. Dynamic compliance compensation andbackup ventilation for PS modes let you ventilate with

enhanced safety, confidence, and control. In emergencysituations, the quick-start feature allows manual ventilationwhen the device is off, on, or in standby mode for rapidsupport. Even in the unlikely event of a gas supply failure,automatic ventilation can be temporarily continued.

KEEPING YOU INFORMED

The Fabius Tiro features an integrated, high-contrast monitorwhich displays relevant ventilation information as numericparameters and a pressure waveform Fresh gas flow ismonitored via high-visibility digital displays as well as a sin-gle mechanical flow tube which shows total gas flow. It isalso possible to export all parameters as data, e.g. forenhanced ventilation monitoring or further analysis.

If you’ve used a Dräger workstation before, then you’re fami-liar with Dräger’s standard user interface, which features ourestablished select-adjust-confirm concept. This means you’llbe up and running on the Fabius Tiro in just a short time.

The Fabius Tiro is compatible with our CLIC adapter foruse with Drägersorb Clic which effectively prevents skincontact with soda lime and can be exchanged even duringoperation. This means increasing safety for personnel andpatients when replacing the sodalime and improving workprocesses. (c.a.r.e. No. 2/2007 15)

MODULAR AND UPGRADABLE

Your Fabius Tiro can be equipped with hemodynamicmonitoring. In conjunction with Dräger Infinity patientmonitors and the SCIO patient gas module, the Fabiusworkstation provides integrated gas monitoring as well as enhanced ventilation monitoring including spirometry.Due to its open interface architecture, the Fabius Tiro isready for integration into your hospital information system.You’ll always have the option to customize the Fabius Tiroto suit your individual needs. Your Dräger representativewill be glad to assist you in choosing the options that areright for you.

ENHANCED ERGONOMICS AND ECONOMICS

The Fabius Tiro was specifically designed for use in confinedconditions. For example, you can choose a ceiling version orwall-mounted version – a dedicated solution in an inductionroom setting. If you prefer maneuverability, the Fabius Tirotrolley version comes with a stable yet compact trolleywhich makes positioning both safe and simple. Up to threedrawers provide storage space for additional equipmentand consumables, and a stowaway table provides extraspace for instruments or documentation.

The external compact breathing system (COSY) features asimple design for easy disassembly and cleaning. Becausethe piston-driven E-Vent ventilator requires no drive gas, noadditional medical-grade gases are required foroperating/driving the ventilator.
