They will be recognized for their actions and be entered for a chance to win $50 in Chamber Change!

Canada’s Only Harley-Davidson® Technician Program Updates

Recently, GPRC Fairview Campus installed a new platform that improves the level of experience for its Harley-Davidson® Technician students. On this platform, students are able to work with ten newly loaned Milwaukee-8 engines. These engines were loaned to the College from Harley-Davidson® Canada to ensure technicians are up to date with the latest Harley-Davidson® products. Ten new 2017 touring motorcycles are also expected to arrive in the near future for use in training courses.

Ford Vehicle Donation

GPRC’s Automotive Department received a generous donation of a 2015 Ford Escape and a 2015 Ford Explorer from Ford Canada. These valuable donations will act as integral training aids for our Automotive Technician students.

AED Accreditation Students graduating from GPRC’s ThinkBIG program now also leave with AED (Associated Equipment Distributors) Accreditation. Now, in addition to being known worldwide by Caterpillar dealerships and their customers, ThinkBIG graduates will be given preferential consideration from heavy equipment dealers and end users throughout North America.

CAT On-Highway Truck Donation

A welcome addition to the ThinkBIG program, this 2014 Caterpillar CT 660S was previously operated as a plough and highway sanding truck before being donated to the program in August 2016. Being utilized in the delivery of the on-highway curriculum, this donation improves the learning experience for students by ensuring the opportunity to work with current technology and providing hands-on experience with systems they’ll encounter in the workplace. The on-highway truck was received as a donation through Caterpillar Inc. The department expresses great appreciation for this thoughtful contribution and Caterpillars’ on-going commitment to the ThinkBIG program.

Pre-Employment Welding

GPRC has reintroduced the Pre-Employment Welding Certificate program as a means of offering more options to potential students. The program starts on January 3, 2017 at the Grande Prairie Campus. Register now at www.gprc.ab.ca/programs/welding.html
