Electrical Preparation

Preparation for Installing Mounting Brackets

Enclosure Preparation

WARNINGThe dishwasher is designed for an electrical supply of 120V, 60Hz, AC, connected to adishwasher-dedicated, properly grounded electrical circuit with a fuse or breaker rated for15 amperes.

• Place the two mounting brackets into thetop corners of the dishwasher.

• Fix the mounting brackets (A) to the topcorners of the dishwasher, with the screwssupplied.

• Bend sides of mounting brackets (B) inorder to fix from sides (if necessary).

WARNINGDishwasher must be secured toadjacent cabinetry using the mountingbrackets provided. Failure to do thismay cause damage to property orbodily injury.

Adjusting HeightIf the height of the enclosure is 33-7/8” to35-7/8” (86.1cm-91.1cm), adjust supports asshown in the figure.

• Adjust the front foot level with theadjusting wrench to balance and raise thedishwasher to the enclosure height.

• Adjust the rear foot level with ascrewdriver to balance and raise thedishwasher to the enclosure height.

NOTICE• Make sure the dishwasher is plumb

and notice dishwasher can be placedwith a small clearance under thecounter top.

• Turning the screwdriver in thedirection of the black arrows willbring the dishwasher back feet up.

• Turning the screwdriver in thedirection of the white arrows will takethe dishwasher rear feet down.

Installing theSide Trim Strips• Remove the

adhesive tape(Figure A).

• Place the trimstrips on the frontedge of the sidewalls (Figure B).

NOTICEMake sure you use the correct trim strip since there is a left and a right side strip. Theflexible material should be facing forward (Figure B).

11

Installation Preparation

• Check with your plumbing supply sourcesfor the proper hose and 90° elbow andnecessary fittings for the water supply line. This material is not supplied and must bepurchased separately.

If the water supply line is to be coppertubing, make certain that the elbow has acompression fitting. Apply Teflon tape orother pipe sealant when required. Orient thewater supply connection downwards asshown in the figure so the water line can beeasily pulled underneath or on the side ofthe dishwasher.

• Install an easily accessible shut-off valve(not supplied) in the water supply line. Allsolder connections must be made beforethe water line is connected to thedishwasher’s water inlet valve. Water canalso be supplied to the dishwasher byusing a flexible braided hose line.

Preparing the Water Connection (A)

Installing the 90° Elbow Fitting (B)

WARNINGInstallation should be performed by aqualified installer. Work by unqualifiedpersons could be dangerous and mayvoid the warranty.

If the dishwasher is installed in alocation that experiences freezingtemperatures (e.g. in a vacation home, cabin, etc.), you must drain all thewater from the dishwasher’s interior.Water system ruptures that occur as aresult of freezing are not covered bywarranty.

CAUTIONDo not overtighten the 90° elbow.Doing so may damage the water inletvalve and cause a water leak.

Installation Preparation

The dishwasher drain hose may be connected to the drain plumbing in one of three ways,(Figures A, B, C):

Drain Preparation

NOTICEYou must add a loop at least 28”(71.1cm) above the floor of the cabinetand above the drain connection in thedrain hose to prevent waste water fromnot draining properly and causing eitherpoor washing results or a bad odor.

NOTICECheck with local ordinance for type ofair gap required.

NOTICE• Either one of the above methods must be used or the dishwasher will not operate

properly.• A hose that attaches to a sink spray can burst if it is installed on the same water line as the

dishwasher. If your sink has one, it is recommended that the hose be disconnected and thehole plugged.

• The total length of the drain hose is 76-3/4” (1950mm). If a hose extension is required, adrainage hose of equal quality must be used.

• The maximum length must not exceed 157-1/2” (4000mm). Otherwise, the cleaning processis negatively influenced.

Under the Sink Drain• Install a Y-branch tail

pipe (Figure A).

Disposal• Remove the drain

connection plug beforeattaching the drain hosefrom the dishwasher.

• Every disposal has ahook-up for adishwasher; consult yourdisposer manual forcorrect connection(Figure C).

Installing an Air Gap• If the local ordinance

requires an air gap(Figure B).

Installation Preparation

Steam will form inside the dishwasher during operation. At the end of the cycle, when thedishwasher door is opened, it is required to use a steam protection foil to prevent any steamfrom collecting on the underside of the counter top.

Steam Protection Foil

CAUTIONSteam protection foil must be appliedwhere the steam escapes when door isfirst opened. Failure to install thesteam protection foil duringinstallation can lead to damage to tothe cabinets and countertop.

Fitting the Protection Foil• Before applying the steam protection foil

to the underside of the countertop, cleanthe area with a damp cloth (as shown inFigure A). Once the area dries, apply thesteam protection foil.

• The steam protection foil will be appliedat the location where the hot steamescapes when you first open the door (asshown in Figure B).

Now place the dishwasher into the opening and get ready to connect all hoses and electricalconnections.

Note that the marks on therubber connection hose should

be on the drain hose side.

Placement of Dishwasher into the Opening

Drain Hose Connection, Water Supply, and Electrical Connections

CAUTIONMake sure all hoses are pulledthrough the side opening of thecabinet, no hoses are kinked, andall slack is taken out as shown inthe figure to the left.

Drain Hose ConnectionConnect the drain hose to thedrain plumbing.• Use the supplied rubber

connection hose and drainhose clamps to connect thedishwasher drain hose to theplumbing drain connection.

• Use the spring clamp tosecure the rubberconnection hose to thedishwasher drain hose. Use

the screw clamp to securethe rubber connectionhose to the plumbingdrain connection.

Water supply may be connected to thedishwasher in one of two ways:• With metal braided hose.• With copper tubing.

Installation

CAUTION• Hot water supply line: Use minimum

3/8” O.D. copper tubing or metalbraided dishwasher supply line.

• Temperatures required for solderingand sweating will damage thedishwasher’s water inlet valve so ifany such operation is needed, keepthe heat source min. 7-7/8” (20.0cm)away from the dishwasher’s waterinlet valve.

• There should not be any sharp bendsin the water line that may restrict thewater flow.

• Teflon tape or pipe thread compoundmust be used for sealing theconnection. Before connecting thecopper water supply line to thedishwasher, flush it with hot water toclear any foreign material.

NOTICEAfter connections are made, turn on thewater supply to check for leaks.
