The Patient Voices Network
We are all patients. We all access the health care system at some point. We have family and friends who access it as well.
The PVN is a community of BC patients, families, caregivers, and others who wish to use their experiences for positive change to the health care system.
Patient Voices Network is led by ImpactBC in collaboration with Patients as Partners, Ministry of Health
Why do we need a network?
Patients, families, and caregivers are the experts in their own lives. They need to be engaged in decisions so that BC’s health care reflects the needs and priorities of those it serves – patients “Patients become advocates due to negative,
sometimes tragic events that they or a loved one have experienced. I am no exception.
My adversarial stance has shifted to feeling that I am part of a group of dedicated people within the system working passionately for health care change.”
Johanna PVN member, Vancouver
