Mycoplasma: Stealth PathogensWhen I perform Live Blood Hemograph-

ics, I frequently see markers for a particulartype of bacteria called Mycoplasma. Thesemarkers are becoming evident in more andmore of the samples that I have been work-ing with. Mycoplasma is a unique speciesof bacteria. They are the smallest fiee-living organism known. Unlike other bacte-ria that have a solid cell wall, mycoplasmadoes not have a cell wall. They are like tinyjellyfish with a pliable membrane, and theycan be hard to culture in the lab, thereforethey are often missed iN a cause of disease. The first connection Mrveen mycoplasmaand rheumatoid diseases was made in 1939,

, and in the late 1950's a specific strain wastied to pneumonia Since then, a link be-tween immunodeficiency and autoimmunedisorders has also been identified. Nowstrains of mycoplasma have been identifiedin humans, animals, and even plants.

Mycoplasma pneumonia has become morecommon, and this is a perfect example ofhow these bacteria can move into other partsof the body and cause disease. While in thelungs, it can lead to asthma, bronchitis, andpharyngitis, as well as pneumonia. Otherthan the respiratory system it can also infectthe blood (where it often hides within redblood cells), skin, joints, the neryous

system, liver, pancreas, heart and urinary sys-tem. It has even been identified in the cerebro-spinal fluid of ALS, MS, Alzheimer's andleukemia patients. It all depends on whichcells of the body the bacteria decide to invade.

Today, there are over 100 species of my-coplasma that have been associated with vari-ous diseases in the human body. They are nowlinked to AIDS, cancer, chronic fatigue, andCrohn's disease. Mycoplasma usually infectsfemales four times more often than males, andinterestingly rheumatoid arthrifi s, fi bromyal-gi4 and chronic fatigue also have about thesame incidence rates.

Mycoplasmas are parasitic in nature and canattach to specific cells without killing the hostcell, and therefore the infection can often goundetected. The mycoplasma acts as a con-stant thorn, causing the immune system to goin high defense and wage war. In some casesthe immune system begins attacking itself, resulting in autoimmune disorders. They canmimic the host cell so perfectly that the im-mune system cannot differentiate between themycoplasma and the body's natural cells. They rob nutrients from the host cell, furtherdepleting the cell's resources, and can eventake over the cell's DNA. In live blood sam-ples, I often see evidence of mycoplasma beingharbored within red blood cells.

by Benjamin Wood, CNHPWe employ specific methods to attack

this infection. N.A.E.T. is often used todesensitize the body to the effects of thebacteria. In NAET, we check for sensi-tivity to some of the most commonforms of mycoplasmq and often themycoplasma sample needs to be com-bined with DNA/RNA, lung tissue, mus-cle and joint mix, or specific organs tohelp eradicate it from the body. RIFEtechnology is also very beneficial ineliminating mycoplasma. The frequen-cies delivered by the Rife machine helpdestroy the bacteria no matter where it isresiding in the body. And finally, thereare a number of natural antimicrobialsthat help fight against mycoplasma" suchas Houttyniq Olive Leaf, JapaneseKnotweed, and Rhodiola. We also use a"Transfer Factor" that helps transferinformation to the body that helps iden-tiff and destroy the bacteria. Very im-portantly, we support the overall im-mune function so the body can betterfight on its own.

For more information on mycoplasmaor methods to help eradicate it, feel freeto call us at Healing Arts Center.

Dyrng to Live: Emma's StoryFebruary 2,2014, was the beginning of a

long journey to regain my life. My relation-ship with food became toxic early in mychildhoo4 and as the years progressed theweight accumulated swiftly. Food fed myhappiness, sadness, anger, and stess. It be-came my drug of choice. I tried to stop, takecharge, and figh! but urges to keep eatingovertook my life from the time I woke up inthe morning and all through the night. Evenduring sleep I felt my body get up and headtowards the kitchen - I knew I wasn't hungybut I couldn't stop. Then guilt followed.

No one ever addressed my need to eat as anaddiction. They just said, "stop eating" or"moderation is your best option." I could nolonger distinguish between "head" hungerand'lhysical" hunger.

In my third year of working as a nursingassistant in a nursing home, I injured myback. What followed was a long, miserablestruggle with chronic back pain whichheightened my struggle with food even more.Eventually I entered a medical assistant pro-gram and began working out and eating moreappropriately and finally felt I was becomingstronger than the addiction.

My back slowly worsened, however, and amonth into my marriage the doctors found aherniated disc and in the following yearsdiscovered two more bulging discs. I was onbed rest many times, lasting from weeks tomonths. The boredom led to depression, which in tum led to a uncontrollable desirefor food. The chronic pain coupled with theadditional weight threw me into a downwardspiral, and after several failed'odiets" myfuture seemed lost. Praying for help, I stum-bled on gastric bypass surgery. I attendedseminars and began indepth research. With my husband's support and for the next

7 months, I attended nutrition classes, visitswith the doctors and nurses, and even dealtwith a new diagnosis of type 2 diabetes. Ilearned that I would indeed lose weight, butthe amount of weight I needed to lose (over200 pounds) would be diffrcult and I had tostay realistic. In September of 2014 my new life was

about to begin. I was neryous, excited" andscared. Recovery was not easy, and a monthafter surgery I was diagnosed with two ul-cers.It has been a long journey, but over two

by Emma Blanchard, MAyears later and 200 pounds lighter I have anew respect for life and where I may beheaded. Many times I almost gave up onmyself and could not see an end to myphysical pain, along with struggling withthe emotional pain of food addiction. I stillstruggle every day and I know that willalways be a part of my life. I still see theold pictures of me, and I want to tell thatperson that good things will happen andnever give up! Life is full of opportunities.

When I was asked to write this article Iwas excited but afraid of facing the past aswell. This is a part of my purging andcleansing of the past. I am fortunate withthe support I have - many are not so lucky. To those people, I say never give up onyourself - you are important for both your-self and others around you. We can over-come more than we think we can - it willhappen for you too!

(Emma works today at Healing Arts Cen-ter. We are proud to have her as part of ourteam. She inspires us and everyone whoknows her!)

The "Clean Fifteen"

Many of us try very hard to eat "clean" diets - organic foodsgrown without the use of pesticides (and hopefully non-GMO).

Sometimes organic product is hard to come by and/or muchmore expensive. Here is a list of fruits and vegetables that com-

monly have the lowesl pesticide residue:
