when they enter college. 69 percent pray. 81 percent attend religious services, at

Why Christian higher education?More than 50 percent of Christian
students who attend public colleges claim minimal to no religious affiliation after four years.
For Christian students who attend secular private colleges, that number is 63 percent.
The only exception to these statistics is among students who attend purposefully Christian colleges.

The more conservative a student’s faith background, the greater the change in
his or her religious affiliation at a private secular or public institution.

Why Christian higher education?According to The Washington Post, faculty
at most non-Christian colleges disdain Christianity:
72 percent indicate they are liberal;
84 percent favor abortion; and
67 percent indicate homosexuality is
acceptable.

Why Christian higher education?400,000 high school seniors each year
would meet the admission criteria for a distinctively Christian college.
Only 65,000 choose to attend a Christian college.
Of the remaining 335,000 – if we lose them at only the 52 percent public university drop rate – then approximately 175,000 young people are moving away from their faith each year.

Strategic ReviewCompleted a long-range strategic planning
process in 2007.Worked with Performa Higher Education
campus master planning consultants to evaluate and recommend improvements to current physical facilities.Certain sizes work best for private colleges.400 students is more difficult to maintain than
1200 students. The College must grow in order to succeed.

Relocation of our CampusAs we grow, we will need additional and
improved facilities.Campus master planning work showed there are
significant issues with our current campus:Facilities are outdated, inefficiently
constructed and in need of repair.Current land will not accommodate the new
facilities we would need in order to grow.Cost of rebuilding on current land would be
enormous.Trustees unanimously voted in October 2007 to
relocate.
![Page 21: F OUNDED 1937. Why Christian higher education? 79 percent of all freshmen believe in God when they enter college. 69 percent pray. 81 percent attend religious.](https://reader036.fdocuments.net/reader036/viewer/2022062315/5697bfeb1a28abf838cb7ec3/html5/thumbnails/21.jpg)
Relocation ProcessSeven to eight municipalities expressed interest
in recruiting the College to relocate to their communities.
Trustees narrowed options to two locations: Newnan and Peachtree City.
Trustees will decide between final options – ideally by late summer or early fall.
Actual relocation will likely be a 2-4 year process.Legacy in East Point: a facility for adult degree
completion?
