One episode occurred in Cambridge, where a sit-in was organized, prompting the state of Maryland to send in 250 state police officers to quell the unrest.  Due to the segregation, he went to 5 different elementary and middle schools.  He went to Cambridge South Dorchester High School which was built as a totally round building.  He excelled in football and track and field. His senior year, he broke a bone in his ankle, and was unable to throw the discus effectively. At the state Track and Field Finals, he was able to throw the discus by only standing, the skies opened up and rained out the rest of the tournament. As a result, he defended his title, and won first place again in the discus throw.  He is honored to be inducted in the Cambridge South Dorchester High School Athletic Hall of Fame.   He went to Towson State University playing football and track and field. As expected, he excelled in college and is inducted in the Towson State University Athletic Hall of Fame.   He is happily married, and has 2 sons, both attended Mt. St. Joe’s High School. Don, Jr attends the School of the Arts Institute in

Chicago, and Isaiah attends Frostburg State University.   He has worked as a defense contractor for many years. For the past 3 years, he worked at Total Healthcare which provides healthcare for the underserved in Baltimore.   On Monday, he starts his next job working at S.O.M.E., So Others Might Eat, which is a non-profit organization, which provides low-income housing in DC.   http://some.org/   Sgt. among Arms C Monty:  Highlighted Happy Dollars: Many Don Washington dollars.   AJ gave a dollar because his daughter, Amanda, passed her Master’s Thesis in Marine Biology, and has a job offer.
