EYP FIRST WEEK OF FUN AT SCHOOL

A s we at RBKIA are constantly striving hard to provide an enriching & stimulating learning environment for our curious learners .To incorporate this understanding in to action a number of fun-filled activities were planned and successfully conducted during the entire first week of school which were thoroughly enjoyed by our learners and they happily took them home. Various activities like creating rainbows, making of snail, decorating our happy tree just to name a few. The above activities were designed to develop the Fine Motor Skills of the learners. With the development of these skills, a child is able to complete important tasks such as writing, feeding oneself, buttoning and zippering. Learners had a great time doing these activities and each day they were looking forward to the next up-coming activity.

PYP SHOW AND TELL- GRADE 3

“Each and every animal on earth has as much right to be here as you and me”

- Anthony Douglas Williams

The students of Grade 3 have been enjoying learning about different habitats of the world in our current

UOI- Natural Habitats. To show their understanding of various animals and their habitats, they brought

toys/pictures of animals of their choice and shared the information about their home conditions, food

habits, adaptive features etc. through a “Show and Tell” activity. They talked about their animals

passionately and answered audience’s questions confidently. Their presentations clearly showed that not

only each habitat is unique but so are the animals living in it. It was a great learning experience for all!

PYP STRATEGY USED IN GRADE 4 TO INTRODUCE PROPER NOUN AND COMMON NOUN

P erfect Partner The students were asked to pick a strip from the packet of words. Each strip had a word of either proper noun or a common noun. After each student had picked the strip, the teacher instructed the students to search for their partner. The students went around the class looking for their partner. The pair that has found his/her partner first will stand in the line allotted to them. Thus the topic Proper noun and common noun was introduced. The students were excited to look for their partner. It was a social atmosphere created in the class. For eg: river , Godavari.

MYP Thinking it Over

What is this feeling?

When words seem to escape you

And your mind starts reeling

When people insist on brushing aside your worries,

Suggesting instead to surrender and let fate take over

Viability is subjective; so is fear

Who asserts control over where your life tends to veer?

There are some who claim said control through their own strength

There are some who maintain half-lives of sorts,

Making their peace with the volatile tides of change

And yet still, there are many who sit back and observe,

As their own life de-rails with an ear-shattering screech

I mention it again, this ordeal of having to choose

Between a world of countless fears and worries,

Daunting issues that cannot be counselled by outsiders

Or a world where you state your resolve freely

And plunge head-first into dangers of your own design

It goes without saying,

Everyone eventually has to declare their position

They must know where they stand

And where they wish to go

Only then will your mind stop reeling in panic

Only then will the words flow free like a raging river

Only then will you realize

That answers are not found in others;

They are found within oneself.

MYP

The Ways Of War

Upon hearing the horns we say,

Perhaps some of our final ways,

To think and to be free,

All for one measly country.

All of us hail from a different state,

But we share between us a common type of plate,

To win for one nation and defeat the next,

Is a battle that will go on for worse or for the best.

I must mention the things we go through,

To make sure our families keep their cattle to moo,

Battling against the elements is our way of life,

To survive this means that I can again see my wife.

I would suggest that we try to make peace,

But in the process there is no doubt we'd lose our own piece,

We always do try to maintain our faces,

For the pain is as good as a hit with a few maces.

We observe our enemies from afar,

And claim their lives in the most bloodiest spar,

We try to insist to tell ourselves that this is what is for the best,

And yet inside we know that their families will not be having a fest.

We assert our ways with the most thoughtful yet gruesome of intentions,

For this is the way we either win or lose did I not mention?,

Even though this life can easily turn us into a star,

This has always been the way that we declare war.

A representative from Full Sail University,

USA visited RBKIA on Monday 22nd July 2019,

and gave us an inspirational talk about gaming

as a career option and the wide variety of jobs

available in the gaming industry. Originally

gaming was a field I had not really looked into as

a career path. However Full Sail makes that

possible. Full Sail University

offers campus and online degree programs that

are designed for the world of entertainment,

media, arts, and technology. Offering

associate’s, bachelor’s, and master’s degrees,

Full Sail’s approach is cantered on real-world

industry experience and creative problem

solving. Full Sail offers to teach you a wide

variety of courses that open up opportunities

beyond playing video games which they actively

encourage too! We were told that marketing

plays a large role in the creation and launching

of video games, and is something that interests

me a lot. There have been many well-known

people that have graduated from Full Sail, one of

whom is currently working for Epic Games and

multiple graduates who worked on the final

season of ‘Game of Thrones’ . To learn more

about the job opportunities the institution will

be hosting an event on Saturday, August 10th

2019 where one can also get a chance to speak with

alumni from Full Sail who have been credited on

projects such as Call of Duty, Witcher 3, IPL

Mumbai Indians, Vivo Pro Kabaddi, Hunger Games.

Looking forward to this exciting event.
