The cost factor for deeper Plastisperse blacks is proportionate. Paste dispersions, however, can cost several hundred percent more to achieve similar results.
Additionally, because Plastisperse is a free flowing, low dusting, dry colourant with a low carrier vehicle content, other ~~~~t benefits are achieved. There is, for example, a minimal effect on physical properties. It can be difficult and expensive to achieve deeper blacks with paste dispersions because much higher quantities of carrier vehicle can adversely affect product quality. For example, 75% of the weight of standard carbon black dispersions is carrier vehicle.

Exxon Chemical Co., Houston, has acquired ComAlloy International Corp. of Nashville, Tenn., a producer of reinforced thermoplastics compounds and alloys. ComAlloy will operate under its current name as an Exxon affiliate.

Areas covered include biodegradation in live applications, characterization techniques and methodology, photochemical degradation, and secondary effects of degradation. RAPKA Technology Limited in the UK has produced a state-of- the-art review on foams and foam generation methods. Dr. J. M. Methven, lecturer at UMIST on polymer processing and composite analysis, is the author of this report which details the technical aspects of the manufacture of foam materials.
