Extreme Networks named “Networking Vendor of the Year 2012” At Extreme Networks, we have always taken pride in doing more with less. We strongly believe that a small, nimble ship with the right crew can do things that even a vast dreadnaught may not be able to do at all. We have a bit of history doing and achieving more with less, a history stretching all the way back to 1997 with the Summit1® winning Best of the Best and Best of Show at Network + Interop 1997. The introduction of the BlackDiamond X8® last year, the fastest core switch Nick Lippis had ever seen in his lab, triggered another wave of awards. ZDnet gave us best 40G core switching platform in 2011, an honor which was followed by the Network Computing Data Center Product of the Year award in 2012. CRN chose the BlackDiamond X8 as the winner of their Tech Innovator of the Year 2012 and also honored us with the selection of Oscar Rodriquez, Extreme Networks CEO as one of the Top 25 Innovators of 2012. This brings us to 15 November 2012, where CRN UK/ChannelWeb UK honored us with the Networking Vendor of the Year award. Here is a link to the press release.
