    Abstract

A common technique to detect this orger! node "eha#iour is net$or%

    monitoring using &oca& $atchdogs.

    A node's $atchdog consists on o#erhearing the pac%ets transmitted and

    recei#ed "! its neigh"ours in order to detect anoma&ies( such as the ratio"et$een pac%ets recei#ed to pac%ets "eing retransmitted.

    )! using this technique( the &oca& $atchdog can generate a positi#e *or

negati#e+ detection in case the node is acting orger! node *or not+.

As this techno&og! is app&ied monitoring and retransmit process

    Objective

,he goa& is to o"tain the detection time *and o#erhead+ o a orger!

    node in a net$or%.

,he main o"-ecti#e is to reduce the time and impro#e the

    eecti#eness o detecting orger! nodes( reducing the harmu& eecto a&se positi#es( a&se negati#es and ma&icious nodes.

    Proposed system

    t com"ines &oca& $atchdog detections and the dissemination o this

    inormation on the net$or%.

    A node's $atchdog consists on o#erhearing the pac%ets transmitted and

    recei#ed "! its neigh"ours in order to detect anoma&ies( such as the ratio"et$een pac%ets recei#ed to pac%ets "eing retransmitted.

    t is "ased on the com"ination o a &oca& $atchdog and the diusion o

inormation $hen contacts "et$een pairs o nodes occurs.

A contact is dened as an opportunit! o transmission "et$een a pair o

    nodes.

    Advantages

    t ta%es &ess detection time *and o#erhead+ o a orger! node in a

    net$or%.

t reduce the time and impro#e the eecti#eness o detecting orger!

    nodes( reducing the harmu& eect o a&se positi#es( a&se negati#esand ma&icious nodes.

t can reduce the o#era&& detection time $ith respect to the origina&

    detection time $hen no co&&a"oration scheme is used( $ith a reducedo#erhead *message cost+.
