Have students take turns drawing a card out of the bag and reading one of the following sentences with that emotion: • Did you really mean it? • I can’t wait to go back to school! • What’s behind that door? • The caterpillar ate through all the leaves. • Where should we plant these flowers? For additional practice, have students repeat the activity with a familiar poem or passage from a text that you are currently reading in your classroom. happy sad angry nervous excited scared
