Characteristics of the movement
Expressionism is the artistic style in which the artist attempts to show not objective reality, or what is, but rather Subjective Emotion and objects around the artist. The artist shows his views through his work by distortion, exaggeration, Primitivism, and fantasy. The artist uses vivid, jarring, or violent application of formal elements.
