Transcript of Exporting a project
When you are ready to export…
That is, you are finished, you have done as much as you can, then this is the finishing off step. Once you have done this there is a version of your video that is ready to be played on a computer or to be recorded onto a DVD or flash drive
To do this, start by clicking on the ‘Publish+Share’ button at the top right hand of the screen, this will take you to the next screen…
This will give a series of options for you to export your project as.
I want you to choose the tab entitled ‘Computer’
This will give you a series of options to choose from that will mean you can save your project as a file to use on the computer.
I want you to save as an ‘.AVI’ file In the first section you need to choose AVI
(it is the fifth one down so you will have to scroll to get to it
Choose ‘DV PAL Widescreen’
Name it what you want. (usually involving your name is useful)
Save it in a safe place.
Usually in the ‘M Drive’ is best because it keeps all your work together.
Finally, if you want to save just a section of your work or exclude some extra clips that you have on your timeline, click on the ‘Share WorkArea Bar’
This is the bar above you work. You can adjust where is sits by moving the ends and export only a piece of your work at a time
Then click ‘save’
Your project will begin saving
Sometimes on larger projects it will take a few minutes before the progress bar starts moving and its speed is dependent on the size of your project
