stBefore incep�on of 1 factory the United Knitwear (Pvt.) Ltd, he had been involving himself in managerial merchandising and produc�on ac�vity with different knit industries which had given him a vast knowledge and insight of apparel produc�on. Since incep�on the company; as a top of the produc�on, merchandising and QA/QC team, he has been leading the company from its goals to purpose. He says, “I believe, all the credit of our achievements; regardless how small or big it is; goes to our human resources and workers of different segments of the company as they love to do what they are doing together”.

A�er complete his gradua�on from university of Dhaka and before ststart 1 factory united Knitwear (Pvt.) Ltd. he had been involving

himself in banking, finance and commercial ac�vi�es for years. Presently his duty and responsibility in the company consists bank, finance, marke�ng and also in-charge of monitoring of compliance issues.

About us :

Presently we run three units of 100% export oriented knitwear manufacturing plant. We

had started our journey in 1995 with one single manufacturing unit in a rental building and

periodically expanded to three manufacturing units and kni�ng, dying, washing plant in

our own well planned premises. Since our incep�on we never had to look behind and all

our customers were delighted with our products and services. It has happened because all

of our three members of board of directors had previous and significant experience in

apparel produc�on and commerce.

We are located in Narayanganj, next to capital city Dhaka where country's knitwear

produc�on and export had been centralized and started journey, our another advantage is

we are located near the highway of Dhaka to port city Chi�agong which we consider a great

�me saving from huge traffic.

Our key export market is Western European countries and USA which is worth of US$

12millions a year.

Time line :

1995 : We establish our 1st factory as a small venture with a wide vision in a rental building

located in Kalibazar area in Narayanganj.

1999 : Expansion of our own kni�ng division.

2000 : Incep�on of our 2nd concern Unite Costume Ltd, another knitwear manufacturing project.

2001: Factory shi� to our own premises.

2005 : Incep�on of our 3rdnd concern Unite A�res Ltd, another knitwear manufacturing project.

2008 : We bought the Falcon Tex Limited.

2010: We install the ETP plant in our dying division Falcon Tex Limited.

2011: United Costume limited achieved Business Social Compliance Ini�a�ve (BSCI) Cer�ficate.

2012: Falcon Tex achieved Oeko-Tex cer�fica�on.

2013: Launching of our new website, prepared a brochure and company documentary.

Compliances: Infrastructure: We have two factory premises; both are specially designed and built for garment industry, so there are no issues of poor-infrastructure, workers entry or exit, air and light flow, adequate and properly placed outlets of safe drinking water and hygienic lavatories are maintained and periodically upgraded in a conscious effort to ensure the welfare of the workforce.

Medical service: We have own appointed doctor to regular check-up the workers health,

emergency medical kit and basic medicines are available in ready stock.

Fire issue: There are fire alarms, clearly demarcated emergency routes and exits, smoke detectors, sufficient fire ex�nguisher and hose pipe for emergency water in both premises. Training to use these equipments and periodic fire drills for evacua�on without hassle are conducted by the HR department.

Child care center: We maintain child-care center facili�e for worker's baby on premises.

Child/Forced labor: We never appoint a labor below 16 as per government regula�on, forced

labor is beyond ques�on. Wages: HR department undertakes and implements programs to remove discrimina�on in work place and pay. It strictly follows the governments Industrial labor policies and provides night allowance, over�me, holiday allowance, and produc�on bonus to its employees. To uphold the spirit of ethical business prac�ce & established codes of social accountability, we strictly adhere to local legisla�on, ILO conven�on & dictate of global sourcing principles.

Training/workshop: We o�en arrange workshop, seminar to train-up our worker and staffs in

valid up to 2016 and renewable.

We achieved Oeko Tex-100 cer�fica�on in 2012 which is valid up to 2014 and renewable.

Membership: We are a member of BKMEA since our incep�on.

Quality Assurance: United promises world-class quality in everything right from fabrics to apparel. This vision and process requires précised quality control mechanism backed by-skilled workforce, experienced supervision, use of latest technology and industrial opera�onal models, monitoring of all quality indices by implemen�ng quality check atdifferent levels of process and stringent tolerance limits. The achieved result leads to reduced rework and rejec�on percentages. The Quality Assurance team scru�nizes quality, star�ng from the raw material purchase to final delivery and takes assistance of accredited tes�ng laboratories where necessary. Because of such a thorough quality measures, the clients get what they requested in final audit & inspec�on. Broken Needle policy: Our broken needle policy is very simple; it normally involves a strict

procedure for replacing broken needles on machines, with all incidents recorded and one main

person responsible for collec�ng in broken parts and giving out replacements. Addi�onally all

garments should be passed through a metal detector before being packaged to ensure they are not

contaminated with pieces of metal. There are also guidelines on metal items which should not be

brought into the factory e.g. in the case of visitors, such as staples, pins, sewing kits etc. (Photo of

Waste water Management : As an ethical knitwear producer and a responsible company for our

environment United conduct its opera�on in a manner, which keeps nature least affected and

keeps it cleaner.

United has set up Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) in its dying units Falcon Tex to handle the wastewater. We uses chemicals & dyestuff of reliable origin and stringent eco-friendly standards. All the chemicals are selected to ensure AZO free fabrics and the produc�on units Falcon Tex Ltd. Is a Oeko-Tex cer�fied.
