Millau Viaduct, France The Millau Viaduct is 2,460m long and crosses, at a maximum height of 240m, the Tarn River canyon in the South of France. In association with Sir Norman Foster, SODETEG and SERF, Arcadis won the design competition and prepared the tender design. Our activities included geological and geotechnical follow-up of the building site and also design of the monitoring and data management during construction and operation phases.

London Bridge StationSuccessful collaboration is integral to delivering one of the most complex and ambitious rail redevelopments in the UK to date – the transformation of London Bridge Station. The project involves the phased demolition and reconstruction of the existing London Bridge Station to create a street level concourse and also completely reconfiguring the track layout to increase through-capacity. All of this has to happen while the station remains fully operational.

Calling this initiative ‘Shelter’ provides focus to ensure that efforts are both practical and helpful. Our Shelter team has been working with the University of Leuven, Belgium, to provide support for the badly damaged historic town of Bungamati, due to a devastating earthquake, near Kathmandu in Nepal. The aim is to redevelop the city and prepare for sustainable urban growth with affordable housing.

Singapore Sports Hub Singapore Sports Hub is a mixed-use development project centred around a 55,000 seat stadium with a state of the art retractable roof. We worked closely with the project engineers and consultants to ensure that the project was delivered on schedule.

These include APC (Assessment of Professional Competence), CIOB (Chartered Institute of Builders), ICE (Institution of Civil Engineers), IMechE (Institute of Mechanical Engineers) and Environment routes. We recruit graduates from all disciplines for some of our roles, not just those with a surveying/construction or engineering related degree. In our experience, non-technical graduates enrich our environment by bringing different skills and perspectives. The features of our graduate programmeThe Graduate Induction ProgrammeA number of development activities will take place over the first few months that give you the chance to network with your peers and meet partners and associates from across the business.

APC (Assessment of Professional Competence)The APC will usually be the first milestone in your career, and our comprehensive APC Programme will support you every step of the way. We also pay your fees and give you study leave to prepare for your Arcadis final assessment.

Professional Qualifications While most of our graduates work towards their APC and ICE, we also support additional qualifications such as APM, CIOB, IMechE, and Environment accreditations. Continuing Professional Development seminars and training are on-going.

Blended LearningWe provide a series of blended learning activities that include e-learning, on-the-job learning, coaching and technical talks which you complete at your own pace.

Research InitiativeYou will complete a research project that crosses service lines to help sectors develop their business plans for the following year.

EventsSix-monthly behavioural skills development events will help turn you from a technically able graduate into a leader who can take the business forward.

Conversion CoursesGraduates from non-technical subjects will study a postgraduate diploma or MSc conversion course via day release or distance learning. All conversion courses are fully financed and supported by us.

Quantity Surveying and Building Surveying Apprenticeships Our advanced apprenticeships in Quantity Surveying and Building Surveying offer those with GCSE or A Level qualifications the chance to work towards a Diploma in Construction and the Built Environment. Successful completion of your Apprenticeship will result in Associate membership of the RICS. A part-time degree is also offered.

During your placement you will have the chance to work on live projects and gain a huge amount of valuable experience. Many of our placement students receive a permanent graduate offer of employment on completion of their studies.
