Nestled in the alcove of Crowne Plaza Jakarta’s lobby, Boca Rica Tapas Bar & Lounge introduces a refreshingly modern and welcoming space that embraces the rich Spanish culture alongside groovy performance and cocktails. To accommodate the bar’s lively nights, acoustic treatments were subtly incorporated into the expansive wooden panels surrounding the space. Warm wood louvres frame the restaurant, almost forming a dome, while carving out separate functional spaces like stage arena and intimate eating booths. The focal point of the space, a brass serpentine staircase, leads to a mezzanine atop the island bar which offers an exclusive private space. An enclaved bar and lounge provides respite in busy Jakarta Jan - Mar 2019 The world of Nestopia awaits at Siloso Beach, Sentosa. Managed by Shangri-La’s Rasa Sentosa Resort & Spa, Nestopia is the second family-oriented project for the Shangri-La Group in Singapore. The unique open-air play space features 17 play sections with netted obstacle courses connecting 3 giant nests and 2 of the longest slides on the island, measuring up to 15 metres. Explorers will embark on an exhilarating adventure as they fully immerse in the tactile environment, making their way through the wooden ticketing booth right to the suspended bridges, mazes and slides. A real treat for the entire family! Having exhibited at Milan Design Week and Design Miami, the much anticipated ‘Flow of Time’ art installation by Grand Seiko arrived at the Central Embassy in Thailand at the start of 2019. Showcasing Grand Seiko’s fast track innovation, the exhibition made use of cutting-edge audio-visual technology curated by Kingsmen. In collaboration with Japanese artists, the multi-sensory motion and microcosmic scenes dramatize the ‘flow of time’, an ode to the unique ‘Spring Drive’ movement in Seiko’s timepiece. In the show’s transient atmosphere, immaculate craftsmanship meets graceful design aesthetic. To share the company’s philosophies, latest innovations & solutions, the hall’s design maximises wall space to enable a comprehensive tour of the facility. The hall’s centrepiece is an interactive landscape scale model of the metropolitan district which promises viewers sustainable development of the city. Landing in Kerry Centre Jing’an is a new boutique space for Singapore-grown brand Ministry of Waxing. Constructed by Kingsmen with original design from WY-TO Pte Ltd, a brilliant palette of blues and yellows perks up the Strip + Browhaus store in their creative concept à la piscine. Lineated by neat arches and well-coordinated layout, the invitation to enter is equally playful and statuesque. Looking out for comfort, privacy and vanity, customers can still inhabit an undisturbed haven between partitioned curtains and reserve rooms mindfully conceived. Design by WY-TO Pte Ltd Constructed by Kingsmen The international brand Off-White™, founded by creative director Virgil Abloh, opened its 4 th boutique store in Southeast Asia in the capital of Indonesia. Customised stretch floor to ceiling structure and solid blocks of colour clad the modish store in geometrical abstraction and coded patterns. The contemporary aesthetic is made complete with clean frames complemented by luxurious satin finish stainless steel furniture. The grids and algorithms are particularly emblematic of Off-White™’s signature pieces and the brand’s clean and neutral attitude. Aston Martin, the British luxury sports car brand, launched its Vietnam showroom on 16 th March 2019 in a two-day inauguration and unveiled their latest car models: the DB11 and New Vantage. Invited media and guests experienced the classic and timeless ambience associated with the automotive powerhouse. Due to site constraints, the team chose to create a journey of discovery for guests upon entry to the showroom. Relying on live engagement to create intimate experiences between guest and car, exclusive tours of Aston Martin’s illustrious heritage and innovation were organised. Car display platforms were configured to time the unveiling perfectly, accompanied by acoustic music setting before the highlight of the night when a regal eagle swooped in to take everyone’s breath away. As the charismatic creature spread its wings in spirit of the New Vantage’s high-powered ‘predatory’ performance, the crowd shared a riveting moment to end the night.
