Renegades: Outsider Art A KickArts Contemporary Arts touring exhibition created in partnership with Arts Project Australia and funded by Visions of Australia

31 Jan – 9 Mar 2014 Mon-Fri: 10am – 5pm, Sat-Sun: 10am – 2pmperc tucker regional gallery

Outsider Art is an emerging genre that describes art forms derived from improbable or marginal places, arising from raw impulse and urges of the heart. Featuring a kaleidoscope of images and artists’ stories, the works in Renegades come from makers with intellectual disabilities, others in community care, psychiatric settings, outer geographical reaches, and free spirits. The show underlines the creativity of ‘unlikely’ makers, mostly lacking academic instruction.
