The Corporation considering the growth of tourism in the Islands has undertaken expansion plan of the resort and engaged an architectural consultant through a competitive bidding. The architectural consultant has prepared Master Plan for the development of the resort in two phases having 130 rooms and other facilities. In the first phase, it is proposed to undertake construction of two blocks having 70 rooms, banquet hall, swimming pool, restaurant, lobby and other facilities. The resort will meet 5 star categorization by Govt. of India tourism and green building rating by GRIHA. The resort will also have provision for solar power, rain water harvesting, sewage treatment plant, etc. The total estimated cost of the project including civil, electrical and furnishing is Rs. 76.07 crores. The APWD on behalf of ANIIDCO has undertaken the construction of the project on deposit work basis and invited tender for civil and electrical works at an estimated cost of Rs. 66.19 crores. The last date for submission of the tender is 23.12.2020 and a pre- bid meeting is proposed to be held at 3.30 pm on 03.12.2020 with agencies interested in undertaking the construction work. The estimated project completion time period is 18 months from the date of the award of the work. The e-tender forms and other details can be obtained from the website http:// eprocure.andaman.gov.in, a press release from Managing Director, ANIIDCO said. 7th Economic Census launched in A & N Islands Heads/members of household urged to extend cooperation to Enumerators during data collection Port Blair, Nov. 27 A high level sensitization programme on Farming Acts, AIF & FPOs for empowering farmers and strengthening marketing sector on the provisions of two Farming Acts (enacted by GoI), Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF) and Farmers Producer Organization (FPOs) was jointly organized by the Department of Agriculture & NABARD in association with Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) in the conference hall of Industries Department yesterday. The programme was inaugurated by Ms. Veditha Reddy, Secretary (Agri.), A & N Administration during which she highlighted about 'The Farmers' produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion & Facilitation) Act 2020' and 'The Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Act'. She also emphasized that at least one FPO has to be formed in each block of 3 Districts and more such sensitization programme has to be organized with the stakeholders in different Islands, so that they will become master trainers and in turn would disseminate the importance of these Acts to the farmers to whom they are closely associated with. She insisted the farming community to actively come forward and register online in the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF). She further called upon NABARD, CIARI, KVK and the Departments Agriculture, AH & VS and Fisheries to coordinate and organize such sensitization programme in other Districts to disseminate on the Acts. It mandates every person to share information for 7th EC. information as per the schedule prescribed by the Govt. of India. Data collected will be kept strictly confidential. The data collected by Enumerators will be verified by 1st Level Supervisors in subsequent visit to the concerned household and establishment and quality check by 2nd Level Supervisors of Directorate of Economics & Statistics and National Statistical Office (FOD), Port Blair on sample basis. The Deputy Commissioners have been nominated as Charge Officers for overall coordination of 7th Economic Census in their respective Districts. In aquaculture, around 60% of the production cost is covered by feed and feeding management. Hence, the profitability, sustainability and health of aquaculture systems depend on the quality of feed and feeding practices. To facilitate the entrepreneurship in feed based aquaculture, a training programme on 'Entrepreneurship Development in Feed Based Aquaculture' was organized for the Island farmers from Nov.23 to 27, 2020 at ICAR-CIARI with the financial support from NABARD. To assist them in this stage, several schemes are being implemented for their welfare. The Department of Social Welfare, A&N Administration is providing Old Age Pension @ Rs 2,500/- pm to Senior Citizens in the age group of 60 to 79 years and Rs. 3,000/- pm to Senior Citizens of 80 years and above. The aim of the scheme is to provide social security by way of financial assistance to destitute, senior citizens who are without any means of subsistence and having no one to give financial support to them for their livelihood. In A&N Islands, so far, 14435 beneficiaries between the age of 60 to 79 years including 571 beneficiaries of 80 years are receiving their monthly pension under the Old Age Pension Scheme. As per the scheme, only those who are permanent residents of A&N Islands or having resided in this territory for not less than 10 years immediately preceding the date of applications are eligible for receiving financial assistance. competent authority on a

The DGCA ban on the

scheduled international

flights was to end on the

30th of this month. India

has established air bubble

agreements with about 18

countries, including US,

UK, France, UAE, Qatar

Maldives, Kenya and

Bhutan. This pact allows

the operation of special

flights between the

countries.

both domestic and

international flights were

suspended on 23rd of

March due to the

pandemic.

The Centre allowed
