Audiences will enjoy fife and drum marches and popular songs, which will also be sung and performed on the harpsichord. A series of vignettes introduce women from Hannah Till, who worked in slavery and freedom as a cook, to Mary Maddox, who died at 101 years old in 1783, and Martha Washington who spent at least a portion of every winter camp during the Revolutionary War at headquarters with her husband the Commander-in-Chief.

Somerset County’s Suffrage Stories: Explore the long history of women’s suffrage in New Jersey from the 18th century to the 19th Amendment. Learn about “Somerset County’s Suffrage Stories” with our historian at our tabletop exhibition featuring Old Dutch Parsonage State Historic Site and explore New Jersey’s leading role in the national struggle for women’s suffrage in “Rightfully Hers” a pop-up exhibition from the National Archives.
