WelcomeWelcomeThe Society for Information Display welcomes you to San Diego forour 51st Annual International Symposium, Seminar and Exhibition. Both SID and Display Week began in California, and we are pleased tohost our 2014 event in this beautiful city on the Pacific Coast.

We would also like to thank our exhibitors. Many return to the showyear after year, and some are brand-new to Display Week. They allhave great products to demonstrate and fascinating stories to tell –make sure you visit as many exhibitors as you can, because there is

always a chance to learn something new at Display Week.

Some other good ways to learn on the show floor include the Exhibitors Forum, where youcan listen to exhibitors describe their products and technology areas in detail; the I-Zone,where you can discover emerging display technologies being created at research labs, universities, and start-ups; and the Networking Lounge, where you can talk with othersin your field who just may have the display solutions you’ve been seeking.

Enjoy Display Week 2014!

F2.6: Silicon Zinc Oxide: An Eco-Friendly Substrate for ITO (3:15)D. Slocombe, Oxford Advanced Conductors (OxACs), Oxford, UK Booth 331

Silicon (as simply SiO2) acts as a highly effective n-type dopant in zinc oxide (ZnO) thin-film coatings prepared byboth vacuum-phase deposition and solution-phase (non-vacuum) deposition techniques. The doping effect arisesdue to a substitution of Si4+ for Zn2+ sites in the ZnO host crystal structure. Si doping thereby acts to release free-electron carriers in ZnO thus leading to SiZO’sTM excellent optical transmission performance.
