The fort gives us a clear understanding of the kakatiya Dynasty, which flourished between 1175 - 1324. it was during this era that the Deccan plateau witnessed a notable trend in establishing architectural marvels like Warangal Fort, reservoirs for irrigation and numerous temples. spread across a stretch of 19 km between Warangal and Hanamkonda, this 12th-century fort attracts scores of enthusiastic tourists every day.

The major highlights of Warangal Fort are the four ornamental gates, which are now the official emblem of the Telangana state. The fort

Warangal ForTwas attacked several times by different rulers and is in ruins today with many segments such as the typical grand walls, cannons, the Darbaar Halls of the rulers missing. However, what you can witness is the grandiosity of the medieval architecture in these remnants.

you can wrap up your day at the fort by enjoying the sound & light show organized at the fort in the evenings. The sound and light show is a treat for the eyes, letting the visitors know about the architectural and historical significance of the fort and Warangal. Technology is driving every sector with its strong ability to get things done. And the exhibitions and events industry is no exception. With new technological trends and impressive innovations paving the industry, there has been a huge revolution.

Exhibition organizers and event managers are creating the best experiences for visitors by harnessing the power of technology. Studies suggest that technology can help increase event attendance by 20%, increase productivity by 27%, and decrease costs by 20-30%.

Technology and business co-exist and are crucial for the existence of each other. Technology boosts business and business boosts economy. In both of these, consumer remains at the center.

Talking about business and economy, exhibitions are effective catalysts for the growth of the economy. Exhibitions fuel ancillary segments viz. logistics, advertising, hotels, restaurants, retail, tourism, travel, etc. and create significant impact on local and national economies. Catalysing India’s Economic Growth was the theme of the 9th IEIA Open Seminar that was held from 13th – 15th June 2019 at India Exposition Mart Limited, Delhi (NCR).

AdAPTINg TO THE CHANgE ANd SEIzINg bIg OPPOrTuNITIESTechnological development is an important factor for the growth of any industry. Thanks to the advances in technology, exhibitions and events have come a long way from the traditional paper-based system. Advances in technology have led to sweeping improvements in planning and executing events – be it trade fairs, meetings or conferences. These improvements have streamlined and consolidated the systems, making it easier for event professionals to get their jobs done. The age we currently live in is of innovation through technology. Here are six ways how technology is changing exhibitions and events.

MObIlE TICKETSMobile technology is transforming every industry, and exhibitions and events industry is no exception. Mobile ticketing allows users to buy tickets using mobile apps at their convenience and store them in their devices, eliminating the need for carrying a printed ticket to the venue. The usage of mobile apps has increased significantly over the years and organizers of exhibitions and events are utilizing their apps to streamline ticketing – one of the crucial activities. Mobile technology also makes storage and retrieval of attendee data easy and hassle-free.

SOCIAl MEdIAWe all know that social media is here to stay and it has now become an essential tool in marketing strategy for exhibitions and events. Social media advertising has replaced mailing lists. Audiences are making choices about what events to attend based on the events their contacts in their social media circles are attending or talking about. Event organisers are using social media to announce events, stimulate engagement, build relationships, start countdown to events and sustain the excitement before, during and after the event. With innovative features of platforms like Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, there are numerous opportunities for event industry to draw attention of their audience.

dATA SECurITyEvents deal with sensitive customer information, including names, emails, telephone numbers, employment information, and so on. Data security is vital to protect customers’ privacy and event organizers’ reputation. With so much activity now driven through digital channels, there is a growing wealth of visitor data – which also means greater risks of data theft. These risks demand more responsibility and vigilance from event organizers. Fortunately, there are many highly secure and robust software applications now available for event organizers. Realizing the criticality of data security and protection, more and more event organizers are turning to these applications.

dATA ANAlyTICSAnalytics is reshaping computing, businesses, and many of our day-to-day activities. Capturing data has become easier than ever. You can’t improve what you can’t measure, and you can’t measure what you don’t understand. The explosive growth of visitor data has created a need for event organisers to adopt data analytics platforms that can make sense of so much information. Data analytics, as a powerful method, is now providing key insights into behavioral and transactional patterns of visitors to address strategic needs and prepare for new innovations. These insights are crucial for event organizers to power more engaging events.

Page 7: Exhibitions & EvEnts - Hitex · illustrates the beauty of kakatiya and Chalukyan architecture. Built in a star-shaped architecture, the Thousand pillars Temple is a popular 2 point

Advanced data analysis tools and platforms are enabling event organizers to study, understand and measure user data and arrive at important decisions. These trends are helping event organizers and professionals create more powerful events and experiences for visitors.

VIrTuAl rEAlITyVirtual Reality (VR) is an innovative way of interacting with and engaging attendees at exhibitions and events. VR is being leveraged in exhibitions and events across industries as a digital enhancement strategy to elevate the attendee experience. VR technology allows participants to engage with 360 degrees 3D images, immersing them into places and experiences that are otherwise inaccessible. VR is being used during large tradeshows for interactive demonstrations of exhibitors’ products and services that would be difficult to be brought on-site. Hotels, destination management companies and real estate companies are using them to showcase their properties or destinations to prospects without the need for them to visit the site.

ArTIfICIAl INTEllIgENCE (AI)Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become the buzzword in exhibitions and events today. Chatbot, a computer program built using artificial intelligence, conducts conversations via auditory or textual methods and enhances the personalization of the attendee experience with more meaningful interactions. Using chatbots in a variety of scenarios, event planners can automate a number of tasks and better serve their customers. Chatbots also enable the organizers to look at data as it’s happening at the event – what questions are being asked the most and are there any recurring problems attendees are facing. Post-event surveys are easy to deploy and easy to answer via a chatbot. AI can automate recommendations for planners and attendees, provide easier and frictionless interfaces for attendees and improve data collection and analytics. It’s a great sign for the exhibitions and events organizations to understand the importance of adapting the new technology for their growth and building on the huge opportunities technology is creating.
