What DoWe Do?

EXECUTIVE SEARCH

We recognise that the key to a successful appointment is a true understanding of our client’s business needs and expectations. We invest time to ensure we truly understand challenges, drivers and strategy before we commence any assignment.

Our dedicated research team is responsible for rigorous market analysis and detailed candidate profiling to test and scrutinise candidates’ experience, competence and cultural fit according to each specific brief.

At Compass Executives we pride ourselves on unparalleled sector specific knowledge and the speed and accuracy such insight brings. We operate an open and transparent search process in partnership with our clients, with weekly ‘progress update reports’ and an ‘always available’ approach.

BOARD ADVISORY SERVICES

We provide strategic consultation in relation to board restructuring, new service commissioning and market analytics, such as salary benchmarking. We use psychometric tests and in-depth interviews with team members and referencing to identify strengths and weaknesses, opportunities for personal development and gaps where new talent is required.

CHAIR, TRUSTEE AND NON-EXECUTIVES

Compass Executives are able to source potential Trustees from multiple channels, including our own database, as well as through our strategic partnerships.

We have a Trustee Bank which we encourage Clients and prospective Trustees to enquire about – this is a service where we pair Not For Profit businesses with Trustees with a specific area of expertise, such as: Quality; Finance; Compliance; Governance; Culture; and large-scale Leadership; based on our understanding of both Client and Trustee requirements.

Why We Are Different

MISSION

Our mission is to provide a modern, dynamic service which incorporates the following:

The highest industry standards.

A robust process with sector leading assessment.

The most precise and appropriate outcome that adds value to our clients.

VALUES

Our values are the cornerstone of our success. We share commercially sensitive information that demands exceptional standards of integrity and discretion at all times. Our clients and candidates will always receive a professional, collaborative and tailored approach.

VISION

Our vision is to be the industry’s first thought when choosing an executive search consultancy to partner with.

“We wanted to appoint an agency with a very clearly defined practice in the care sector. The decision to appoint Compass was based on the agency’s extensive and evidenced knowledge, connections and understanding of our sector; on the experience of building a relationship over the past months; on their obvious commitment and excitement about this project; and on the fee proposition – although fees alone would not have convinced us. I also took up my own references which reinforced the view I had formed of Compass Executive’s performance and response.

“Compass Executive’s main concern is to ensure that the right people end up in the right roles, for them and the relevant organisation. This means that, unlike some Executive Search professionals, they are not pushy. They are supportive and helpful even when there’s no immediate gain, which builds trust.

“CANDIDATE VIEW

Thanks to Ben, I was able to be sure that the opportunity was the right one for me; and by effectively guiding me through his client’s requirements, he helped me to give the best possible account of myself when being assessed for the role.

Richard Muncaster, Chief Executive Officer, Care Workers Charity

CLIENT VIEW

Ben led the search for my replacement as CEO and worked hard to find us a strong shortlist and ultimately an exceptional successor. I found Ben to be very knowledgeable about the care sector. I would highly recommend Compass Executives for your executive search needs.

Alex Ramamurthy, Trustee and former CEO, Care Workers Charity

Case Study

The Care Workers CharityChief Executive OfficerJuly 2018

Company Profile: Benevolent FundSpecialism: Social CareFounded: 2009 WHY COMPASS EXECUTIVES?

Compass Executives’ extensive understanding and network within the social care sector was pivotal to be awarded the assignment. CWC sought a partner who had worked with care providers of all scale and therefore understood and could convey the unique requirements of this position.

REASON AND PURPOSE

The previous CEO, Alex Ramamurthy, decided to pursue a new challenge following an incredibly impactful two year tenure. The Trustees of the Care Workers Charity (CWC) sought to appoint an inspirational, accomplished and charismatic new CEO to provide overall leadership and a long-term strategy. The CEO would set and deliver CWC’s strategic direction, build the charity into a major force in its field and ensure it raises the funds to pursue its mission.

METHODOLOGY

Given the niche nature of the charity and the associated experience and skillset required of the incoming CEO, the search was incredibly detailed and robust. A dual focussed campaign was undertaken across both advertisement and a headhunt in all social care sector spaces. Post initial interview all candidates were scored via a competency matrix by each member of the CWC Board. This condensed the shortlist to three individuals who went through a two-stage client interview process.

OUTCOME

Two from the final three were deemed appointable with the chosen individual accepting without hesitation.

COMPANY BREAKDOWN

The Care Worker’s Charity (CWC) is the benevolent fund for the care sector, relieving poverty and sickness through hardship grants. It exists to fulfil its mission that no care worker will ever face financial hardship alone.

Founded in October 2009 originally as the Care Professionals Benevolent Fund, its objective was to support those who are, or have been, engaged in the care sector and the dependents of such persons by relieving poverty and sickness through hardship grants.

With nearly 2 million care workers in the UK, contributing to one of Britain’s largest workforce’s, they make a massive contribution to our everyday lives.
