    VP ExternalOversee portfolio consisting of:External Directors (x3)

    Develop and carry out UECs vision

    VP StrategyOversee portfolio consisting of:

    Promotions Director (x2) + associate volunteers for promotions

    IT Director

    Creative Director

    Responsibilities:

    Create a promotions strategy and marketing vision in accordance with UEC`s visionResearch and identify all means of promotions and marketing on campus suitable for every event

    Maintain public relations, including the Medium and UTMTV, as well as event follow-up postings on

    the UEC website. Also determine and execute if public relations is appropriate for event.

    Coordinate simultaneous event promot ions to avoid overlap and dilution

    Edit and release the UEC Newsletter (Fall and Winter edition) to be sent to stakeholders

    Communicate responsibilities, accountability and performance measurement to directors

    Take appropriate action and initiative when di rectors do not complete their tasks.

    VP FinanceThe VP Finance will play the critical role of overseeing all revenues, costs, funding/sponsorship

    opportunities, internal controls and administrative functions of the organization.

    Responsibilities

    Maintain all receipts of all cash inflow and outflows of organization, and report to the President

    Re-evaluating budget and allocating funds for all events, seminars and other needs

    Coordinate with other directors to make payments, purchase items/gifts for events, etc.

    Help other VP`s and directors with estimating costs and their feasibility

    Ensure that funds are being spent efficiently, depending on events and other expenses

    Prepare internal controls and internal audit subcommittee to prepare for UTMSU audit.

    Seek and apply for funding opportunities, and create proposals with attached budgets.

    Negotiate funding from Department of Economics, and report them with our financials

    All Room Booking and Food ordering for all UEC events (Conference Services)

    Other admin work, such as picking up mail, purchase office supplies, issue cheques, etc.

    Attend all UEC events + Hold weekly office hours

    Successful Applicant Qualities

    Extremely organized and detail-oriented, critical thinking, problem solving and time-management skills

    Strong proficiency in Excel Modelling skills, as well as ability to present insightful reports on excel

    Reporting - Ability to report concisely and presenting professional reports (Word, Excel)

    Accounting/Finance concepts from courses are assets, such as Budgeting, Variance Analysis

    Highly reliable - complete any task without being reminded, and inform President when completed

    Ability to travel easily for transactions (bank, payments to merchants, etc)

    External Directors (x3)This position is to ensure that students on campus have opportunities to network with outside relevant

    organizations, whether they are associations or non-for-profit, as well as job opportunities with

    companies, government bodies and financial institutions. Events may include guest lecturers.

    Responsibilities

    Encourage speakers and organizations to come to campus for recruitment and networking

    opportunitiesEstablish contacts with other local institutions and organizations

    Planning and mapping out of networking and recruiting events

    Ensure that external representatives are well-welcomed.

    Cold-calling recruiters and organizations to come to UTM

    Attend all UEC events

    Previous event organizing experience is an asset

    responsible, whether to the community, to the environment, or to its students.

    Responsibilities

    Organizing events throughout the year to promote community involvement, environmental

    sustainability and ethical behavior in university

    Find creative ways to inspire students to give back to the community

    Write articles on the UEC website about how economics relates to social responsibility

    Promotions Directors (X2)

    The Promotions Director will be responsible for the branding, marketing image and promoting of either

    internal or external events. The main focus for this role is to promote events through various media on

    campus, including class speeches, internet and emails. Also lead a team of associate volunteers.

    Responsibilities

    Implementing the promotional strategy of UECLiaise with respective director (internal or external) to determine correct marketing opportunities

    Use promotional means such as Facebook and other tools to promote events

    Take advantage of other opportunities, such as Frosh Week, Clubs Week, March Break Open House

    Coordinate promotions with IT Director, Creative Director and VP Finance (costs)

    Weekly update of promotions undergoing to VP Strategy

    Lead and monitor a team of associate volunteers for class speeches, one-on-one marketing, etc.

    Attend all UEC events

    Excellent Presentation Skills (speech experience for large crowds an asset) and Communication skills

    Creative Director

    The Creative Director will be responsible for designing promotional posters, taking pictures during

    events, and shooting/editing promotional youtube video.

    Responsibilities

    Work with other directors, especially the promotions director, to post information

    Maintain server and email service for directors, as well as support

    Report on the levels of visits on the website

    Responsible to take photos and videos during UEC events, as well as promotional videos

    Inserting applications that will help the organization and logistics of UEC and its events

    Design of other promotional requirements (t-shirts, promotional giveaways, etc)

    Attend all UEC events

    Understanding of what makes a poster effective

    Photoshop is a must

    Video and Photo equipment required (DSRL is a strong asset)

    Previous poster design, photography and video shooting/editing experience are assets

    IT Director

    The IT Director will be responsible for the design, programming, and maintenance of UEC website.

    Responsibilities

    Ensure that the UEC website is easy and attractive to everyone

    Work with strategy team and other directors to post announcements, uploading pictures, etc.

    Ensure the functionality of the website at all timesMaintain server and email service for directors, as well as support

    Report on the levels of visits on the website

    Create and maintain and registration forms for event sign-up

    Check the UEC Gmail account (responding to emails, forwarding to appropriate director)

    Constantly improve the functionality of the website by suggesting website applications that will help

    UEC and its logistics for events, public relations, etc.

    Attend all UEC events

    Successful Applicant Qualities

    Proficiency in website design and maintenance (HTML, photoshop required)

    Previous website experience and PHP coding are assets

    Ability to update and post information on the website quickly when neededCreative and open to criticism and suggestions
