ITINERARY

DAY 1: Friday 11 March Welcome to Mauritius!After clearing customs, you will be met by your English speaking Mauritius guide and transferred to your 5-star hotel, Constance Belle Mare Plage, located on the dreamy East Coast of Mauritius. Set along a stunning 2km white sand beach in a sheltered bay, you will find the Constance Belle Mare Plage beautifully set within the tropical environment.This evening, you will start your Mauritius journey with a welcome dinner and get to know your fellow tour members, some who will be continuing on from Go Golfing’s safari tour of South Africa.(D)

DAY 2: Saturday 12 March Following breakfast, your golfing sojourn starts at the Links Golf Course, conveniently located at Constance Belle Mare Plage. It is rated by many as a brilliant golf course in a spectacular setting. Lush fairways and beautifully manicured greens await you. Enjoy! (B,D)

DAY 3: Sunday 13 MarchToday you will play Constance Belle Mare Plage first championship golf course. Home to the “Johnnie Walker Classic” and to the Mauritius Open championship tournaments, the Legend course is set along one of the most beautiful beaches in Mauritius. Designed by Hugh Biaocchi, it is laid in the heart of a heavily wooded indigenous forest which was formerly a hunting reserve. The toughest hole is the par four 5th, where water must be avoided to the right of the fairway on the way to the green. The signature hole is the spectacular par three 17th, which plays across a small inlet on the sea front at Bras Requin Bay to a tricky green that’s surrounded by sand traps. (B,D)

DAY 4: Monday 14 March Following breakfast we discover Port St Louis, Mauritius’ capital. Sandwiched between the Indian Ocean and a mountain backdrop, Port Louis is a mix of Mauritius modernity and tradition. Immerse yourself into the locals way of life, a fusion of flavours, fine cuisine, jewelry, fashion, or handicraft. You will sample a wide palette of the colours of Mauritian life.Next stop is the botanical gardens. Created in the era of the French East India Company, the Pamplemousses Botanical gardens is one of the oldest and most beautiful gardens in the world. We continue north to a gorgeous seaside village, Grand Bay and the famous red roof church at Cap Malheureux. (B,D)

DAY 5: Tuesday 15 March Nestled in a tropical island sanctuary on the picturesque east coast of Mauritius, Four Seasons Golf Club Mauritius at Anahita is a masterpiece overlooking the Indian Ocean. The par-72 Ernie Els Design Course is the centrepiece of the Anahita sanctuary and boasts six oceanfront holes along spectacular coastal nature. (B,D)

DAY 6: Wednesday 16 MarchToday we travel to the south and our first stop is to Trou aux cerfs, an extinct volcano dating back 700,000 years with a 280 foot deep crater. Our travels continue up through the Plaine Champagne forest, by way of the Grand Bassin, a sacred lake to the Hindu community.After the sacred lake, enjoy the lush mountains stretching toward the coast at Black River Gorges. Cascading waterfalls, several species of birds the “Echo Parakeet”, “Paille en Queue” and even Mauritian fruit bats can be seen in the valley.Next stop is La Rhumerie de Chamarel where you will be initiated into the secrets of the manufacture of agricultural rum, with a chance to taste it. Here you enjoy a delicious lunch inspired by western and local cuisine. Our final discovery is at the Seven Coloured Earths. The name is inspired by the soil, which is layered in hues of yellow, blue and red – a unique geological curiosity. (B,L,D)

DAY 7: Thursday 17 MarchToday you can choose your own adventure. Some will be keen to hit the fairways at the Links while others will opt for the adrenaline of skydiving or trophy hunting with deep sea fishing. A more relaxed option is a visit to the Lions at Casela Nature park. Down Riviere Noire road, lies 14 hectares of lush green vegetation which is home to 1,500 bird varieties, wildcats, zebras, giant tortoises, long tailed monkeys, and much more. The park is a kaleidoscope of textures and colours. (B,D)

DAY 8: Friday 18 MarchToday you will play a golf course that is truly one of the most glorious golf settings in the world. Set on its own tropical island in the Indian Ocean, Bernhard Langer’s Le Touessrok golf course covers 38 hectares of the Ile Aux Cerfs with a coastline of little bays, inlets and promontories with volcanic outcrops, lakes and a variety of tropical trees and plants. All 18 holes have ocean views. Don’t be surprised if this becomes your favourite course.After this spectacular golfing finale you will be primed for our farewell prize giving dinner.
