Understanding ideas, rendering visions tangibleAt the beginning of every Bergmeister by Siteco luminaire is the idea itself, a specific optical task, and a fundamental understanding of the requirements before an approach to the solution. Permanent dialogue, communication and inspiration on-site lead to ideal solutions that come about step-by-step from the ideas and sketches of all participants.

Bronze – sense and sensibility The alloying of copper and tin in a cold state is highly robust and hard-wearing. When heated (to approxi-mately 700 degrees) it can be processed and formed relatively simply. Bronze has superior characteristics that prove to be highly suitable for use in the manu-facturing of housings for outdoor luminaires:

Bronze resists aggressive environmental influences, maintains its natural patina and has an almost unlimited service life. The originality of the raw metal has a discreet, timelessly elegant appeal that lends Bergmeister by Siteco luminaires an unmistakably attractive character.

An understanding comes about on-site, and ideas find their place. By researching and inspecting on-site, an impression is created and inspiration is gathered, and this finds expression in ideas and sketches. These are the blue-prints for more work and all further designs. This ensures that the final optical solution corresponds precisely to the wishes of customers and that it is also able to blend into the architectural surroundings, as originally intended.

Precise lighting calculations for sustainable lighting light is a necessary and design-oriented component of public spaces. These require lighting instruments that react sensitively to the demands of people, the functio-nal tasks of the area and the specific features of the ar-chitecture. Such requirements flow into precise lighting calculation models drawn up on the basis of efficient

Siteco light control systems. Siteco has one of the most modern lighting laboratories, and with the development of pioneering efficiency technologies such as radial face-ted reflectors, the Siteco secondary reflector system and the latest lED Module 520, the company counts as one of the innovation leaders in the European lighting sector.

Complex, detailed lighting calculations precede each luminaire development and system installation.

Light output ratio-optimised radial faceted reflectors guide the light precisely and with high efficiency onto the road.

High efficiency lenses focus the light of the Bergmeister by Siteco luminaires via secondary reflector technology.

From small to large The first step is the creation of a scaled, pre-cisely detailed miniature model. The complex production methods of this unique object hint at the level of professionalism invested in Bergmeister by Siteco luminaires. The miniature model serves as a comparison between idea

and reality, and is modified and perfected over and over again until it corresponds in scale to the targeted solution. it is then implemented as a first prototype in the ratio of 1:1 and subjec-ted to complex lighting tests in order to achieve optimal lighting results.

Art and craft in perfect symbiosis Bergmeister processes materials in a way only to be found in the traditional production methods of craft manufacturing. Materials such as copper, bronze and stainless steel are brought to life and given a sense of materiality with a lifespan and durability way beyond expectations. The artisans are innately aware of the special characteristics of the material and bring their expertise to bear in creating a unique luminaire from simple pieces of metal. They are inspired daily to create

lighting instruments that during the day are an object of attraction and during the night an object for illuminati-on. in this way each individual luminaire is handled with a maximum level of care and with the highest demands for quality during the complete process of manufacture.

The effort is seen in the result: precision in every detail and spotless surface processing make each luminaire an outstanding, unique object.

Natural materials and the highest levels of craftsmanship are the basis for the Bergmeister by Siteco luminaires. The creation process demonstrates how harmoniously bronze, concrete, wood, design and light are able to blend together. And during practice, with installation and the first lighting tests, sense be-comes certainty and the illuminating expression of both inspiration and engineering art.

Task: As a part of the refurbishment of the flensburg pedestrian zone in germany, a need was created for effi cient and ergonomic ligh-ting. The aim was to heighten the attractiveness of the inner city area with the use of modern, effi cient lighting technology. The design was required to refl ect the self-conception of Flens-burg as a modern city and to be able to harmo-niously blend into the mature urban ambience. The rough ocean climate of the harbour area also placed additional demands upon weather resistance.

Solution: The glare-free and homogeneous lighting of the approximately 1,000 metre long pedestrian zone is ensured by lighting technology based on a secondary refl ector principle. A disc-shaped refl ector fi xed by a discreet frame fl oats above a double conical mast with an integrated projector. The timeless and yet progressive design of the 40 mast luminaires constructed of extre-mely weather-resistant cast steel blends harmo-niously into the complete architectural concept and lends an almost Mediterranean ambience. What illuminates at night must be an attraction during the day: the secondary refl ector luminaire was developed and implemented especially for the lighting of the holm area in flensburg.

To unite energy efficiency and quality of light within an attractive design, a design moreover that blends discreetly with its environment, was the task set with the development of the SM 500-r, created for the town of Mindelheim in Germany. The secondary reflector system is characterised by a highly uniform and glare-free distribution of light. The projector is com-pletely concealed by and integrated into the end of the double conical mast, and its light is projected to a reflector that then precisely guides this to the working plane.

The luminaires of the SWDiSc® range featuring the Siteco Mirrortec® system are based upon the principle of secondary reflection. With this special lighting tech-nology a lumen package from a projector is emitted to a deflection reflector, is then split into many brilliant light points by this and precisely emitted onto the area to be illuminated. The reflector facets create highly efficient light point resolution for glare-free, harmonious light distributi-on. characteristic of the Siteco Mirrortec SWDISC® luminaire is the light, floating

appearance of the projector head and the circular luminaire canopy. This serves as a supporting element for the integrated 3D faceted reflector that creates either symmetric or asymmetric light distribution according to specification.

With the SWDiSc® 3 version the projector is mounted directly to the mast, with the SWDISC® 1 projector and canopy reflector are fixed to the mast with horizontal connection elements, and with SWDiSc® 2 with curved connection elements.

Task: The central Pancratiusplein, surrounded by a melange of various architectural styles, was to be given a sensitive but ambitious redesign with the aim of creating a unique town square character, in turn transforming the area into an attractive magnet for both visitors and residents.

Solution: The core philosophy, to unite the various styles of architecture existing in the square with a form of ‚emotional linking element‘, lead to the de-velopment of an organically formed secondary mast luminaire with a design inspired by botanic origins: the luminaires bring together the refl ector and pro-jector elements as petals, and with the diversity of the models (3 to 5 arms) also create an unexpected eff ect.

The form reflects the luminaire surroundings. This design for the town square in heerlen is reminiscent of a bouquet of flowers, and not without reason...

Task: The luminaire was to harmoniously blend in with the world famous Erfurt histo-rical town centre in germany without itself having a historical appeal. With its galleries, shops and restaurants, the square forms the busy centre of Erfurt. The Anger area looks back to nearly one thousand years of history.

Solution: The solution consists of a highly modern mast luminaire with secondary re-flector technology for glare-free illumination of the boulevard. A disc-shaped reflector fixed by a discreet frame floats above a doub-le conical mast with an integrated projector. Additional projectors can be mounted to the canopy reflector for accentuating of facades or trees.

A classic form, two construction sizes, state-of-the art lighting technology and various connection methods make Tektus an optical multi-talent.

The luminaires of the TEkTUS family unite innovative and energy-efficient lighting technology with a classic appearance and exclusive materials. Their form is reminis-cent of heritage examples, but interpreted with a modern appeal. in this way TEkTUS luminaires during the day are able to blend outstandingly with historical urban archi-tecture, but are also successful as part of a modern city ensemble.

Task: The listed cloister courtyard is the cul-tural and event-oriented heart of the town of Ebersberg. The medieval ensemble features an approximately 2,000 square metre inner court hosting events all the year round. The solution was intended to ensure functional lighting, refl ect the ambience of the location and its architecture and allow multifuctional use. Solution: A total of eight fi ligree, seven metre high light pillars, reduced to minimum static dimensions, structure the inner courtyard: with secondary refl ector systems for general lighting, combined with projectors for facade illumination and integrated emergency ligh-ting. for the special requirements of events, the bases of the pillars were constructed so that they function as a power supply unit; additional lighting and sound equipment can be installed to the pillar via standard connections.
