Arriving the afternoon before your big day, you can take some time to decorate the venue, before relaxing and spending special time with your nearest and dearest.

Later in the evening, you can all enjoy a tasty evening meal, and savour the truly special moments that lead up to your big day.

The Perfect Setting

The extensive lawns run alongside a peaceful stream, which features mini waterfalls and leads down to an enchanted woodland brimming with local wildlife. You might even meet the friendly resident Peacocks proudly strolling the grounds.

The privately-owned Ellingham Hall Estate is set in eight stunning acres of Northumbrian countryside and includes the elegant country house, seven luxury cottages and rustic tree houses!

A Grand Entrance

Step down the staircase in style, before taking your vows in front of the large feature fireplaces in either our intimate wood panelled Dining Room, or our beautifully converted historic Chapel.

You’re sure to make a grand entrance on our elegant staircase which provides a beautiful backdrop for photographs.

Myself and my now new wife chose Ellingham Hall as our wedding venue and there aren’t enough words to describe how

Alternatively, should weather permit, enjoy an outdoor ceremony on our extensive lawns with the beautiful Hall as a backdrop.

The Hall is licensed for civil ceremonies and partnerships and provides an impressive setting for your special day.

Before walking down the aisle, the whole staff were waiting to wish me luck which

was such a lovely touch. Our weekend was perfect and there was not a single thing we

Drinks Reception and Canapes

Venture off into the surrounding woodland with your photographer to capture the first moments of married life together.

If you’re planning a winter wedding or celebrating in cooler temperatures, our stunning Entrance Hall provides the perfect luxurious backdrop to relax, sip champagne and savour delicious canapes.

Following the service, join your guests for celebratory drinks on the Chapel Patio and lawns to enjoy the panoramic views of the grounds and walled gardens.

The Wedding Breakfast

Dine on fine cuisine and enjoy the much-awaited wedding speeches. Our Chapel can cater for 140 guests and the Dining Room can hold up to 40 guests.

With a couple of personal touches, relaxing background music and some delicious food and drink served effortlessly by our professional staff, your guests will have fond memories for many months to come.

Enjoy sitting pride of place at the Top Table in front of the grand fireplace as your loved ones toast your first meal as a married couple.

The wedding breakfast was delicious, the beef was dropping to bits, could just

manage the pudding before surrendering. All the staff were extremely attentive.

The Evening Reception

Holding up to 180 guests, you can really let your hair down and dance the night away.

Be sure to slip away so you can both take some time to reflect and capture some unforgettable moments in the sunset.

Once the formalities are over, take centre stage with your first dance in our historic Chapel.

The food was amazing, and we had the best weekend ever! Please do pass my thanks to all the staff. The guests commented so many times on how

beautiful the house and the rooms were as well as the cottages.

Our dedicated food tasting session helps couples to select your menu requirements for the Big Day. With many options to choose from, you won’t be disappointed!

We have had so many compliments from our guests on how amazing the food was, it really was on another level, from canapés,

wedding breakfast, evening BBQ to full English served in the chapel the next morning.

Ellingham Hall is a cut above the rest & I would definitely recommend to anybody!

Hall Accommodation

The Ellingham Bridal Suite includes a spacious lounge area, super king-sized bed and for ultimate luxury, newlyweds can walk out onto the private rooftop terrace and relax in a hot tub jacuzzi.

The main Hall boasts two stunning bridal suites for couples to choose from, as well as 16 beautifully appointed bedrooms sleeping 33 guests in total.

The Hall and grounds are stunning, each of the rooms are tastefully decorated and quirky, the Gothic Room in particular is a bride’s dream.

Equally impressive, the Gothic Bridal Suite includes a super king-sized bed, roll top bath and a lavish dressing room.

With a mixture of double and twin rooms over two floors, you can be sure to have your nearest and dearest close by on your special day.

We couldn’t have chosen a better place to hold our

wedding as we were able to have all of our immediate family & friends on site.

Estate Accommodation

The cosy cottages collectively sleep a further 36 guests, each sporting their own comfortable living area, kitchen and private driveway.

As with all Hall residents, cottage guests will enjoy an evening meal the night prior to the big day and breakfast each morning if block booked.

Choose to hire the entirety of the estate which includes our seven spacious stone cottages should extended family or friends wish to stay with you to celebrate.

Ellingham Hall is the most magical venue. We hired the hall and

cottages for the full weekend and would highly recommend doing so.

Outdoor Spaces

The chapel patio and rooftop terraces boast panoramic views of the estate and the gardens include unique treehouses, red squirrels, peacocks and a stream that runs down into a small peaceful woodland area bursting with wildlife.

The gardens and grounds provide an exquisite setting for your wedding photographs - with an array of stunning feature points to choose from.

My son married his beautiful wife at Ellingham Hall and the hall and the grounds were the perfect surroundings for such a magical day. Thank you for
