Car park
The school has previously worked with Work
Health and Safety personnel to review our car
parking situation. A risk assessment was conducted
around the safety of cars parking on school
grounds. The recommendation has been made that
no parent parks on school grounds. We urge that
all parents and community members support this
request as student safety is a main concern.

School Uniform- Being a part of the “Bradbury School Team”
It is fantastic to look out on assemblies to see students who look a part of the “Bradbury School Team”
by wearing their full school uniform. Thank you to all of the boys and girls for wearing full school uniform,
and of course their parents / carers for ensuring that this happens.
In previous newsletters it has been mentioned that plain green shirts are not school uniform. I encourage
all students to wear full school uniform. The new school hats have arrived and are in stock. We are
currently awaiting small sized shirts and the girl’s school dresses. We have changed suppliers of dresses
due to the feedback around sizing and make.

Staff Professional Learning
Our staff engage in professional learning each Tuesday. This week our inspirational, Beginning Teachers
Miss James, Miss Marshall and Miss Savage who recently attended a Noii conference with Mrs Rodwell
their incredible mentor shared their knowledge on inquiry based learning activities that could enhance
their students deeper understanding in a fun and risk free environment.
They were so inspired to come back and share the inquiry based learning ideas with all the staff. Two
ideas they shared were Number Talks and Loose Parts. Collaboration, creative, communication and
critical thinking skills were definitely evident as staff created a response to a text using loose parts.
See some of this in action in the photos below. We love sharing best practice in action and listen out for
your children talking about these type of activities at home.

Parent Workshops
Parent Technology Information Session,
This morning 26 parents enjoyed an information session on Reading Eggs and Mathletics. We were lucky
to have Darcy Gale from 3P Learning come in to present and answer a range of questions. Parents
enjoyed learning about the program and having their questions answered.
Parents Comments:
Maria: this was a good opportunity for parents to hear how to use this product.
Belinda: this was very helpful because it showed me how to use it well at home.
Belle: this is useful for my own child and would give direction for children with special needs.
Niddal: This talk was informative and was explained in depth. He answered our questions.

Tell Them From Me
Student Survey
I am delighted that this term, our school, like many other public schools in the state, will participate in a
Department of Education initiative: the Tell Them From Me student feedback survey. The survey
measures factors that are known to affect academic achievement and other student outcomes. The
focus of the NSW-wide survey is on student wellbeing, engagement and effective teaching practices.
More information about the survey is available at: http://surveys.cese.nsw.gov.au
The survey is a great opportunity for our students to provide us with valuable and quick feedback on
what they think about school life, how engaged they are with school and the different ways that
teachers interact with them. More than 6,300 schools in Australia and around the world have used Tell
Them From Me to survey 5.4 million students. Capturing the voices of our students will help improve how
we do things at our school.
I want to assure you that the survey is confidential. The survey is conducted online and will typically
take less than 30 minutes to complete. It will be administered during school hours between 11 March and
12 April. Participating in the survey is entirely voluntary.
A consent form and FAQs for parents/carers about the survey is being sent home with students. If you
do not want your child or children to participate, please return the form to school by Friday 15th
March. Copies of the form and FAQs are available from: http://surveys.cese.nsw.gov.au/information-
for-parents.
The consent form and FAQs are available in 23 languages.
