Extravaganza ‘I Am, We Are’. The Creative Arts Committee would like to thank you all for supporting our students and teachers last Monday 16th September in the presentation of our Extravaganza’ ‘I Am, We Are’. Term 2 saw teachers and staff begin planning concepts, choosing music, backdrops, booking buses and other important behind the scenes necessities. Rehearsals also began promptly in the first week of second term. Students were excited to learn about the cultures of the countries their grades represented and start learning the choreography their teachers had put together. The excitement ramped up a notch in Term 3, as the date for Extravaganza drew closer. Costumes and props added to the electric atmosphere that filled our school. When the day finally arrived, our school was awash with smiles and a contagious buzz of excitement as the buses began to fill and arrive at Events Cinema. SHOWTIME: So many memorable moments… Who can forget the majestic Chinese Dragon and hypnotic fan performance of Year 5, the cutest Haka anyone has ever seen by Kindy or the smiles on the faces of the Year 4 Leprechauns? Not to mention, the amazing sandstorm dance of Year 3, the fun road trip on Route 66 with Year 1, the colourful Brazilian carnivale of Year 2, the rockin’ British tribute presented by Year 6 and the endless sea of smiles of the students and audience members. Perhaps the most memorable and definitely most moving part of our Extravaganza may have been our finale, showcasing Australia’s Heritage with some of our Koori kids performing on stage, joined by all the students, from all the different cultures that make up our school community. We truly hope you enjoyed our performance and message of unity. Alicia Collins, Teneille Campbell, Teresa Calder, Tracey Moir, Kimberley Morris, Rebekah Kenyon -Creative Arts Committee-

Community Support Our school has the opportunity to win $10 000 to create an outdoor space for the students. Each family member is able to go to http://www.grillex.com.au/win and enter to help us win the space. We would love an outdoor area that has seating, shade clothes and a bbq where children can learn to cook and the community can come together. It doesn't take long to fill in the competition and would be fantastic if we got the community support and won - Thank you in advance.

Book Club Orders

Book club orders have arrived back and have been distributed. If you did not receive your order please advise Mrs Smith ASAP.
