The system is equally suitable for small single-DVR systems and large enterprise systems with load dis-tribution servers and failover features. This is made possible by a system architecture that is designed especially for scalability and high performance: A single server can be used to control thousands of cameras. For example, in one of our largest systems, 5500 cameras are connected to the G-SIM sys-tem. The following provides information on the high-performance and innovative features in G-SIM:
Failover for failed servers within less than a second
Failover for DVRs and cameras
Perfect data protection using flexible rights management and a complete audit trail
Central administration and distributed use
Extensive support of delegation or transfer of event or alarm processing, allocation of tasks and internal delivery of messages between users
Extreme scalability and flexibility for any number of networked workstations
Remote consoles
Optimum overview thanks to seamlessly integrated video wall solutions

Software components G-SIM is a server-based software product and consists of the five core components:
G-SIM Server: The heart of the system is the G-SIM server. The server is the communications and control center of the system. All system requests, instructions and messages are managed using the G-SIM server. It is installed as a service under the Windows® operating system. Part of the server package is the Connection Manager, which coordinates all communications smoothly and according to defined rules.
G-SIM Agent: A software component that can be installed on various Windows® computers running G-SIM. The agents collect data on the operational readiness of various system components and send the results to the G-SIM server. Using the G-SIM Agent, alarms are generated and the necessary data is transmitted to the G-SIM Server for the display of video analysis, text display and process data, such as number plate recognition.
Operator Console: From the perspective of the operator, there is no difference between the operator console (OpCon) and G-SIM itself Operators interact with the system exclusively through the operator console, even when you take into account video walls and remote consoles.
Management Console: The management console (ManCon) is software for the configuration and mainte-nance tasks that arise in the context of G-SIM. Because it is a separate system, it is impossible for users to "accidentally" access the administrative functions due to incorrectly configured OpCons.
Updater Service: The updater service is configured using the ManCon and it ensures that the various parts of G-SIM can be kept up to date, regardless of where they are hosted.

G-SIM Failover Server Failover server for the G-SIM security information management software. This separate computer system communicates with G-SIM Mas-ter System in the network and can assume the role of the main system in case it fails. The takeover times of the failover system are extremely short ( < 1 second ) even for unplanned outages. Technical data: 1 x INTEL XEON 6-core processor inside > 2 GHz 4 x 2048 MByte DDR3 ECC RAM memory Matrox G200eW graphics card on board (no DirectX) 2 x 1 GBit Ethernet interface on-board 2 x 120 GB SSD in Raid-1 configuration OS Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard Essential 19" rack 2 U, 2 x RS-232, 1 x VGA port 5x USB 2.0 (1 x front, 4 x rear) Redundant power supply unit 2 x 500 W; hot-swap capable Maximum availability due to full failover in case of failure Activation of the failover server in a very short time (less than one second) Powerful server hardware with mirrored operating system (RAID Level 1) Tamper protection (lockable front flap)
