coUnterPoint® introdUces sUPer dUtY coUnter MAts

CounterPoint® has renamed Heavy Duty and Standard Duty counter mat products, introducing Super Duty counter mats.

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA (December 8, 2011) – CounterPoint’s Heavy Duty counter mat is now called Super Duty and their Standard Duty mat is

now called Heavy Duty. The change was made to align the product names with the evolution of the counter mat market.

When CounterPoint first started making counter mats, they introduced their premium counter mats as “Heavy Duty”. The mats were built

with CounterPoint’s exclusive Supported Adhesion Coating (SAC) and printed directly to the tough, plastic surface creating the industry’s

most durable counter mat. As years passed, competitors entered the market and called their inferior rubber backed mats “Heavy Duty”

degrading the perception of heavy duty. Several years ago CounterPoint introduced “Standard Duty” mats with a construction and price

point similar to competitor’s heavy duty products. CounterPoint changed “Heavy Duty” products to “Super Duty” to reflect their superior

construction and durability. “Standard Duty” was renamed “Heavy Duty” to match comparable, competitive construction and market

perception.

Largo, FL (November 3, 2011) – Top 40 supplier, Camsing Global is pleased to announce the launch of Drinx™ a new line of drinkware for the

promotional products industry. The line includes more than 100 styles of tumblers, travel mugs, sport bottles, and a complete array of

glassware and ceramics that will fit into any promotional budget.

In an already competitive market segment, the Drinx™ line is being introduced at lower prices and lower minimums than is standard within

the industry.

According to Billy Dolan, CEO of Camsing Global , “Drinx™ is a familiar and natural product extension for Camsing. Between Adva-Lite and

Avaline, drinkware has been a major product category for us and it made more sense to combine all our resources and invest heavily in the

category with a comprehensive range of new items including glassware and ceramics. In addition to our wide product selection, Camsing has

invested significant resources to secure deep inventory in this core product category.”

PPAi Petitions President to reconsider ProMotionAL ProdUcts sPendinG LiMit

Reprinted with permission from PPB, Promotional Products Association International.

President Obama will issue an Executive Order instructing all Federal agencies and departments to limit spending on “non-

essential items used for promotional purposes, such as clothing, mugs, and non-work related gadgets.”

The limits on promotional spending are included in a larger effort to reduce spending on federal employee travel, vehicles,

printing and technology by 20 percent.

Thanks to the diligent efforts of one industry member who has embraced the PPAI grassroots program, PPAI was alerted

that the Executive Order was imminent late last week. PPAI President and CEO Paul Bellantone, CAE, immediately

petitioned the President and said, "while it might be tempting to limit the purchase of promotional products in order to

yield some short-term savings, in the long term, this prohibition may unintentionally diminish the good work of Federal

agencies. Time and again, promotional products have proven themselves to be the most cost-effective way to reach a very

targeted audience in a tangible, long-lasting and memorable manner.”

In addition, the PPAI Advocacy team reached out to the White House and small-business advocates within the government.

“While PPAI was not able to stop this order, we believe we were able to mitigate the overall impact further demonstrating

why the industry needs grassroots participation to be effective,” says Bellantone. "We need to make sure we have

members of Congress watching out for us.

“The government efforts against our industry are not coming through traditional channels. Executive orders are written

privately and released—without public input or debate. We must have sentinels on every public policy corner. This is the

second time in the past two months that vigilant members have given us critical insights and allowed us to preemptively

respond to threats. In both cases, those inside Washington acknowledged that they were surprised we had found out

about what they are doing.”

PPAI thanks members who are watching out for the industry and encourages everyone to join us in our advocacy efforts.

PPAI’s goal is to ensure that promotional products are viewed in a positive light. The Association will work diligently to

achieve that goal.

If you were one of the 215 distributors that attended the Fall Showcase or if you represented one

of the 58 supplier companies who exhibited, you know that the MAPPA Fall Showcase was a

dynamic two-day event.

The mood was exciting as the floor bustled with distriubutors and their clients after attending an

educational session facilitated by PPAI Chair of the Board Eric Eckstrand, MAS and PPAI President

and CEO, Paul Bellantone, CAE. The session highlighted research about why promotional products

work and why end-users should work through distributors to ensure quality and safety.

The result was a floor full of motivated buyers and excited exhibitors.
