EWI of San Diego | May 2017 Connect- Let’s just call this the “Express Edition”
“This year is going to go reeeeally fast”- Everybody
Turns out, “everybody” is right. We are already at the “half-way-versary”
for this year’s Board of Directors, all who have been really hard at work to
create a memorable AND successful year for our chapter members. The
latest example of this hard work was the recent Executive Appreciation
Luncheon, hosted by member firm San Diego Convention Center
Corporation on April 18.
There are a few people that I would like to thank:
Thank you, Colette Morel, ManPower, Elsie Nash, Payroll Vault, and Pat Evans, San Diego Convention Center Corporation, who helped plan a lovely luncheon. Thank you, JDixx Photography, for the great photos. Thank you, Flowers by Coley, for the floral centerpieces. Thank you, Patti Parsons, for coming out of ‘Courtesy Chair Retirement’ for this event. Thank you, to all our members who donated great raffle prizes. Thank you, to all our Executives. EWI of San Diego stands out as a city with incredible Executive involvement, and our chapter is strong because of your support. Thank you, Clifford ‘Rip’ Rippetoe, CEO of San Diego Convention Center for such a dynamic
presentation about The Convention Center and all that it is doing for our community. We are
delighted to have been part of your ‘first anniversary’ in San Diego!
President’s letter continued…
We have some exciting chapter dates ahead:
May Chapter Meeting, May 23rd is in the form of a “Membership Networking Event”. Your
chapter fee will cover you and a professional guest, making it an easy (read: affordable) way for
all of us to introduce other professional connections to EWI. The success of this new initiative
will be up to us and I hope we will all make the most of it.
June Chapter Meeting, June 20th will feature speaker Deputy District Attorney, Wendy Patrick.
We will also be honoring our Past Presidents… you won’t want to miss this opportunity to say
‘thank you’ to the presidents who planted our roots.
July Chapter Meeting, July 18th will be at member firm, Fleming and Associates, where we will
meet our EWISP and ASIST (scholarship) winners!!
August Chapter Meeting, August 22nd is our BIG FUNDRAISER! Stay tuned for more information
about the evening.
September Chapter Meeting, September 19th Friends and family can join EWI San Diego for
chapter night out at Petco Park for our September Chapter meeting.
Leadership Conference and Meeting (LCAM), September 21-23. Registration is now open, and
there is an early bird discount available!
More information and details about all these meetings will be posted in future Connects.
Until then,
Vanessa Davis
