Let’s begin with some basic

If there is a God, He must have always

Something has always existed!

• For the evolutionist/atheist, it is matter.• For the Christian, it is God• Which one makes more sense?

The atheist alternative is evolution.

• For many of these, they begin with the “Big Bang Theory.”

• The “Big Bang Theory” basically says that the entire universe once consisted of a huge blob.

• This huge blob then blew up, hence the statement: “Big Bang.”

If we pursue the “Big Bang” Theory,

• Where are we? • Be realistic! • We have huge chunks of matter flying away

from the big mass. • We already have numerous problems.

The pull apart problem

• First of all, such a huge mass of matter would be virtually impossible to pull apart.

• As I understand the “Big Bang Theory,” everything was once part of the big blob.

• When we had men on the moon, they were able to jump and bounce around because they weighed much less than when they were on earth.

Our understanding of gravity

• This is our understanding of gravity: the bigger the object the more it’s gravitational pull.

• The men were light because the moon is much smaller than the earth.

• Conversely, the huge blob would have such gravitational attraction that virtually nothing could pull it apart.

The pull apart problem• Remember that we have had nuclear

underground explosions for testing purposes.• Most of us were unaware that the tests were

being carried out: We felt nothing.• Obviously this “big bang” was not big enough

to even blow a chunk out of the earth, • That is to say nothing of blowing up

something so great that the earth itself was only a small part of the huge chunk.

Another thought on “the Big Bang Theory:”

• What planet has ever blown apart? • Yet all the planets are only small parts of

what was once “the big blob.”• It is an absurdity.

Orbits for the planets• Let’s move past absurdity number one. • Let’s get the [the flying pieces] in orbit. • What are the problems? • First of all, at some point, the direction of travel

must be stopped which would require another tremendous force,

• But now consider the even greater problem: • Each piece must turn at an approximate right

angel so that it can go into orbit.

• That may sound simple, but it isn’t! • Remember that we could not begin the space

program until we were able to develop very sophisticated computers to make all the calculations so that the angle was right to put the satellite into orbit?

• Some of our satellites have fallen back to earth.

Satellite Crashes?

• How many of our planets have crashed into the sun?

• None!• Why not?• Because the Greatest Scientist of all time

designed and created our universe including our solar system!

• His Name: The Almighty God.

about light and heat?

How important is light?

• I’m sure that all of us have experienced moving a board, or rock, or some other object off of grass or some other vegetation and noticed the lifeless color of the vegetation where the object had been. In fact, we studied in school how essential light is for photosynthesis to take place. Photosynthesis is essential for the production of all vegetation which is the basis of our food supply.

The existence of light and heat.

• I do not know how evolutionists explain the existence of light and heat, or if it concerns them.

• Both of these require energy, and where does the energy come from?

• So again, let’s consider the alternative: • There is an almighty God.

Then God said, "Let there be light"

• (Gen 1:1-4 NKJV) In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. {2} The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. {3} Then God said, "Let there be light"; and there was light. {4} And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness.

It is by Faith!• (Heb 11:3 NKJV) By faith we understand

that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.”

• So there you have it! If you believe God and take the Bible to be His word, the fog lifts, and everything becomes very clear.

How important is heat?• I’m not talking about needing a little heat on

a cold winter morning when we may get up to a cool house.

• No, I’m talking about absolute zero. • Something we don’t hear the evolutionist

talk about very much, if at all. • Absolute zero is hard to imagine. • There is not only no heat, but no life either.

How about air?• Air is essential to animal life as well as plant

life. • Why do people die by drowning?• Because they did not get air for a very few

minutes and they die. • If, as a child, you poked holes in the lid of a

jar with some bugs in it before you put the lid on, you did it because the bugs needed air to continue to live.

The Bible is clear.• (Gen 1:6-7 NKJV) Then God said, "Let there

be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters." {7} Thus God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament; and it was so.

The firmament or atmosphere

• I believe the firmament refers to what we call the atmosphere. While the clouds are in the upper part of the atmosphere, or “firmament,” as the NKJV calls it, it is between the seas and oceans on the earth, and the clouds of water vapor which are above the earth. Perhaps it makes things easier to understand if we drop down to Genesis1:20:

Birds fly in the firmament

• (Gen 1:20 NKJV): Then God said, "Let the waters abound with an abundance of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the face of the firmament of the heavens."

The Bible is clear about the air

• The New Century Version translates this in a way that is pretty clear:

• (Gen 1:20 NCV) Then God said, "Let the water be filled with living things, and let birds fly in the air above the earth."

• • So the Bible is very clear about the air, or

atmosphere. God made the air, and where else in the universe is air found?

Why is life nowhere else but on planet earth?

• Evolutionists are troubled by the fact that they have found no proof of life existing on another planet.

• They have constructed huge, expensive listening devices to see if they can locate life on other planets.

• Why did life not evolve somewhere else?• The truth is, life does not evolve. • Life was created by God.

What about design?

While we have not discussed many of the other hurdles that the evolutionist need to

explain as to all that is part of the universe, we would

like to consider design.32

The design of reproduction.

• All animals and plants have their system of reproduction, and most mothers have a “mothering” instinct. Mother birds, including chickens, sit on their eggs until they hatch. An amazing part of God’s creation. How do evolutionists explain that?

They did not glorify Him as God,

• (Rom 1:21-32 NKJV) because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. {22} Professing to be wise, they became fools,

The design of beauty in all of life.

• Look at the beauty and majesty of God’s animals and the beauty of the trees, flowers, and all of God’s creation.

• Do we honor and glorify God for His majesty?

“undesirables” by abusing and killing millions of Jews and those he wanted to eliminate.

Communism in the USSR.• When God is gone, then you make your own

rules, and most are familiar with the horrors of communism.

• Supposedly it was going to be “from each according to his ability, to each according to his need.”

• It was a total failure of economic collapse and poverty. People were enslaved behind the “Iron curtain.”

• So communism is basically an atheistic system. If there is no God, how did we get here? Their answer: we evolved!

• Those who accept same sex marriage,• Sex without marriage, and are open and

blatant about it. • Those who accept abortion as simply a

means of birth control have rejected the sanctity of life and have become immoral.

Teaching evolution is wrong. Evolution is a theory, and a very poor one at that,

yet it is being taught in our public schools as a fact.

• Generally, those who would like to teach creation in the classroom are denied to opportunity to do so.

• They cite “separation of church and state,” which is not appropriate, for evolution is its own form of religion, and that of the worst kind.

• It pulls us down to the level of animals rather than, building us up to live by higher standards.

Guard and help our youth!• (Mat 18:6 NASB) but whoever causes one of

these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it is better for him that a heavy millstone be hung around his neck, and that he be drowned in the depth of the sea.

Why today’s lesson?• We need to be aware of the danger of the

teaching of evolution.• We need to know some of the reasons that

this theory should not be accepted by Christians.

• We need to look for ways of discouraging the teaching of evolution: Home schooling, influence in the schools, any way we can help.
