Reliable, High-Performance UV-Visible Spectrophotometers

For over 60 years, customers in world-renowned research institutions, highly regulated QC laboratories and teaching institutions have relied on Thermo Scientific UV-Visible (UV-Vis) spectrophotometers. The Evolution™ UV-Visible 300/600 spectrophotometer series is founded on the successful legacy of the Pye-Unicam, Bausch & Lomb, Philips Scientific, and Spectronic products. Many customers today say they made their first absorbance measurement on a SPECTRONIC™ 20 spectrophotometer, a product on the market since1953. The Evolution 300/600 series continues in this tradition by delivering the solid, high-performance you need for your UV-Vis applications.

The PU8800, designed by Pye Unicam inthe 1980’s, was one of the industry-leadingresearch instruments of its time.

VN Absolute Specular ReflectanceAccessoryThe VN accessory offers significant designadvantages over other designs such as rela-tive specular and VW specular reflectanceaccessories. With relative designs, knowncalibrated specular standards, such as afirst-surface aluminum mirror, are required. These designs require finding a suitablestandard and maintaining the quality of thefront surface. VN has an advantage overVW designs because the light beam onlystrikes the sample surface once. The “W”configuration means the sample strikes thesample surface twice. With the innovativeVN accessory, it is easier than ever tomeasure small samples.

Diffuse Reflectance AccessoryThe Diffuse Reflectance accessory opens thedoor to measuring many samples that werealmost impossible to measure in the past. This accessory offers a horizontal mountingreflectance port to conveniently measureboth delicate and large samples. The doublebeam Spectralon® integrating sphere ensuresthe highest possible energy throughput andaccuracy. A transmittance port is included fordiffuse transmittance measurement of solidor turbid liquid materials. The integratingsphere is fully CIE compliant for performingcolor measurements.

Solid Sample Holder AccessoryThe Solid Sample Holder provides thecapacity to measure a variety of solid samples in % Transmission mode. Anassortment of sample holders are availablefor round, square and odd shaped samples. The 2"x 3" sample slides allow other industry accessories, such as a relativespecular reflectance accessory, to be usedat various angles of incidence.
