In 2011 and after many years of working together I, SteveWaterhouse, then Managing Director of Diecut UK andEmmerson Koo of Wook IL Machinery, sat down and designedthe replacement for a manual clamshell diecutter, enlisting thehelp of heavy engineering experts and electrical designers. Theoriginal Goldline was born and with the first installation inLondon later that year, the start of the revolution began.

As a responsible machine manufacturer and someone who hadsold hundreds of hand fed platens all over the world in the last 25years, I knew the dangers of the original clamshell press. This wasconfirmed in recent history when people who simply operatedthem paid the highest price, on machines my old company hadsold back when I was the sales director and co-owner of Crosland. Ithought if I cannot bring to market a machine that not only doesthe same job but does it in a safe way, a way that jobs can be setup faster, it was easy for the operator to use and bring it to marketat a comparable price to the old technology, then I was not doingmy job.

EVOLUTIONAfter 6 years in working trials, and with the original Goldlineinstalled all over the USA, Canada and the UK, we have nowcollected all the data and feedback from many differentproduction environments and with hours of time spent inresearch and development, the generation two machine hasbeen produced.

The team and expertise have also evolved along the way. TheGoldline machine is built under license at the same factory ourRedline semi automatic/automatic machine is produced bymachinery experts Wook IL. Mr Bang, the president is part ofthe original team who developed semi automatic platens andwho has been producing machines since 1981.

We truly believe that with the combined expertise andknowledge of both Diecut Global and Wook IL – we can cause arevolution with the evolution.

EVOLUTION

Flat cutting plate, uses a patent pending shuttle system whichdelivers perfect registration and giving 10-15% increase inproductivity compared to a clamshell press.

The speed of this shuttle system has variable control thusallowing the operator to speed up or slow down dependent onwhat substrate they are using.

The shuttle mechanism is equipped with an air and brushsystem which blows and brushes any debris away from thebottom platen on every cycle.

The main platen is powered by a dual knuckle system giving itmaximum cutting pressure of over 550 tons. Cutting pressure isadjustable in seconds using the operators touch screen.

The chase system uses a backing plate givingthe machine even pressure. This isaccessible from the rear of the machine,making it simple for the operator to makeready.
