2. ABOUT EMERGENT VENTURES

Founded in 2004, Emergent Ventures India (EVI) was

established with the twin goal to accelerate fight against

climate change and to foster sustainable development. With

presence across 15 countries globally, EVI is one of the leading,

fully integrated climate change mitigation, sustainable

development advisory and renewable energy consulting firms in

the world. EVI provides end-to-end services from carbon offset

project development, carbon advisory, and finance and

technology solutions, to environmental sustainability and risk

management advisory, and renewable energy generation

development.

EVI is led by people who realize that in order to move towards a

'low carbon' society, we must find ways to integrate global

finances and clean technologies. The team comprises of

international finance, technology and strategy professionals

with proven experience in areas such as environment markets,

environment policy, clean energy generation, energy efficiency,

water management and business sustainability.

Leading thought in the climate change space, EVI is currently

working on over 300 diverse projects, some of which are

industry firsts. These span our expert service areas of sustainability and climate value advisory, carbon

advisory and renewable energy generation.

3. SOME INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT SOLAR PV SECTOR

Solar PV Industry is the fastest growing Renewable Energy (RE) in the world (2007 to 2012) - The

global total of solar PV was roughly 100 GW at the end of 2012, to be compared with just 1.5

GW in 2000. Over the past five years, solar PV has averaged an annual growth rate of over 50%

Solar PV is the third largest Renewable Energy installed worldwide till today (only after Hydro &

Wind)

The price of the Solar PV technology is falling at the fastest rate among all RE

Solar PV is the only technology where the electricity is produced electronically (without any

moving part)

Investments in solar power overtook those in wind power for the first time in 2011

Solar PV is the only RE technology where milliwatt to megawatt can be produced (any size is

possible) and virtually can be installed anywhere on earth

If you cover 1% of the Sahara desert with PV modules, they would provide enough power to

meet the world’s needs

4. SOLAR PV CREDENTIALS

2.2 EVI’S CAPABILITY

EVI has gathered significant expertise in solar PV domain related consultancy space and has provided

various kinds of services to its clients starting from site assessment to successful commissioning of solar

PV projects. EVI has successfully completed 1 MW and 10 MW solar PV projects in Rajasthan, India & 5

MW solar PV project in Gujarat, India as Owner’ Engineer (OE).

EVI has set-up its own state-of-the-art solar radiation and weather monitoring station in Rajasthan, India

that has been working for the past 24 months. EVI is also an approved Channel Partner to Ministry of

New & Renewable Energy (MNRE), Govt. of India as System Integrator to implement off-grid Solar PV

projects under capital subsidy scheme. EVI’s client base in solar includes independent power producers,

major corporate houses, financial investors for project development and owners’ engineer services; and

Govt. agencies seeking support for policy formulation, framework and guidelines for development of

renewable energy projects.

Recently EVI has expanded Solar consulting services in South East Asia. EVI has been appointed as one of

the authorized independent Inverter testing agency for the Sustainable Energy Development Authority

of Malaysia (SEDA Malaysia). SEDA Malaysia is a statutory Govt. body in Malaysia formed under the

Sustainable Energy Development Authority Act. The key role of SEDA is to administer and manage the

implementation of the feed-in tariff mechanism which is mandated under the Renewable Energy Act.

EVI successfully executed an assignment of Inverter testing for cumulative 2.5 MW solar PV plants in

Malaysia. Several other inverter testing assignments are in process. EVI is currently executing system

testing (DC & AC) assignment for 2 MW rooftop solar PV Plant for one large Solar PV developer in

Malaysia and executing another assignment for design & engineering review for 8 MW ground mount

solar PV plant for the same client.

Malaysia’s largest University has appointed EVI as consultant to prepare technical guideline for Solar

Farm audit for SEDA Malaysia.

The factors giving an edge to EVI over competition:

Strong domain expertise in Solar Photovoltaic Technology
